My iPod Touch crapped out on me about a year and half ago. Thinking it was the cable then, I bought a new. Turns out it was the Touch that went the way of many others, when hooked to power it will continually reboot every 3 to 4 minutes. So I've relied on the radio for the past year and half, not wanting to spend money on another iPod. I was hoping some one would just give me their older iPod since I need the older generation iPod for it to work right.

Anyway, I go into a pawn shop yesterday looking for a cheaper, older ipod because they had a sign that said, all iPod's 59.95 and up. Well, I go in and check them out and see a 4GB Nano (third generation), that's marked $39.95. The guy was surprised to see that it was priced low, and I quickly bought it. I checked them out on ebay and they're going for $100 plus, so I think I got a good buy and now I can listen to my tunes.

After I put my belt on yesterday I had to take the iPod for a 30 mile test ride, it worked perfectly.

My first generation iPod Touch was doing the same thing a while back. I did some searching and finally found a write up on how to do a hard restart on it and then restore it from my computer. It has worked fine ever since. If I can track down a link, I will post it.

my old iPod Touch is shot! I wasted a lot of downloads and some data stored because I thought it was "backed-up" I did the total reset and restore and all I got was my songs. It still had the same problem, I found out it was a common problem for this $400 iPod, with NO solution except buy a new one. Live and learn. My $40.00 used Nano is working great, so I'm content. Thanks for the replies.

I got both of my Gen 3 Nano's at Pawn shops. I love them....three years and counting.

I got mine free for test riding an HD Ultra! Even has the little HD logo on the back.

I must say, it's one of the better deals I've ever got on an electonic device. Hasn't missed a beat in over two years. I have a little foam rubber pouch I keep it in while it's in the little glove box.

...and the little foam rubber pouch soaks up the oil too!

It hasn't started leaking oil OR smoke yet!
