I have only been able to try some short trips with my new floorboard footrests from Tri-City Polaris.

So far I like them.

Are they protected by the tip overs?

I haven't tried that yet but I have seen other posts that say the tip overs do protect them.

Think that they chrome will get pretty abused; if you don't cover it with rubber. Unless you just ride in socks....

Oh, no! You mean some people wear shoes or boots? That's kinda weird. Personally, I prefer going barefoot!

They do get a little scratched from your feet after awhile, but I love mine. Had them on for 2 years now, and still look very nice. And since they're mounted on the floorboard, not the frame, if the bike tips or the floorboards touch down in a corner, they move up with the board and don't scrape.
They don't hit if the bike goes over. I tested mine.

nohawg, glad to hear the scratches are negligible. I would love to have something similar, but something with a rubber foot rest. Hmmmmm. Perhaps another custom thing to put opn my list. Yea, it's on my list.

Don't think my feet will reach them, can they be moved back?

The footrests were made for shorter riders. Did you move your floorboards back?

I guarantee your feet will reach them. I don't hook my heels on them like some taller riders may be able to do, but I don't find that comfortable anyway. It lets you stretch a lot farther than the plain floorboards though. They're great! By the way, Rollin', the controls move forward and back...not the boards themselves.

They look and work great. Had Tr-City install them when I was there 2 years ago. The floorboard moves up and they go with it if you need to use the tip over for whatever reason. Tri-City always builds nice stuff. The chrome is top quality and holds up really well. The first time the sun reflects off it you know what I mean. O.O
