My bulbs are working fine at this time but thinking I should do a replacement before any trips this summer. My question involves the wiring connector that fits on the back of the bulbs. There seems to be a type that has a spring clip of sorts that has a little pin that fits inside a hole in the bulb spades. My 2007 H-D had them and it made removing the connector impossible without prying that pin back or going in and breaking the pin off so the connector would slip on and off. Anyone experience this with the vision? Do the connectors not want to budge?
I don't want to start something these big fingers cannot complete, nothing worse than trying to do something blind that cannot be done.

after replacing my first bulbs I have not been afraid to replace them anywhere. The first time was a bear because the clips were wrongly placed under the screw and would not budge. I removed the headlight assembly and got a good look at what I was up against. First, you must have small hands, you can't be big handed and do this, not enough room. You also have to remove the air filter and adjust the headlight all the way up. I've replaced my in the hotel parking lot at Barstow after riding Route 66.

This might help so you know what you are feeling around for in the blind.

your profile doesn't list where your live so know one can come and help you. Please add it. You don't say what year your bike is so what makes you think the light are ready to go out. Maybe you should wait till you burn out a bulb. Who knows you could go 9 more years before one goes. Always replace both bulbs and ask the auto parts sales men for the best ones he has. There only H4 bulbs and every one carries them now. Get the white color they do help at night.
If you can't get your hand in there just start taking the bike a part. Start with the gauge cover take the front end apart. It will look like this. DO NOT TOUCH THE BULBS or they will burn out in a couple days. Put some grease on the electric thermals to prevent moister problems.

OK, added profile. I thought I did that. 2008 SSG tour premium. Hey John see you have the best best vision color also!! If I would go through the disassebly to remove the headlamp housing I would highly consider a pair of BI-Xeon HID bulbs. Would give off next to no heat and hopefully help the lens of the housing from fogging.

Thank you so much for the pictures. If I ever have to replace my headlights, I will feel
around first before disasembling the front end. Your pictures help to see what I should feel.

When I changed my bulbs I had no problem with the clips. My problem was getting the seal back on to my satisfaction. Ended up pulling the assembly to get it on right. After doing it I came to the conclusion that it was not on right to begin with and was probably why a bulb blew after only 4K. Have gone 7 since with no problem.
