Orlando, FL | Ok, someone surely has the answer to this. I'm trying to remove the passenger floorboards to add risers. And I cannot get the damned retaining clip off! It's similar to 1 7/8 turns of a flat spring, or a lock washer with another 3/4 turn. Anyone familiar with this? Do I need a special tool?

| If you bend it go to the hardware store and get a new one. Take the pin with you. A sprung clip will not hold and your floor board will be down the road. |

| They are like very small key rings, you need to find the end and then open it up gently. I used two small instrument flat end screwdrivers.
One to hold the "spare" end and the other to "stretch" open the ring. Once you've identified the way it works, its still a pain to get off, but achieveable
with some patience. Best of luck
