I have an 08 VV, ordinarily starts like a damn. In the last couple weeks the following has happened a few times. I hit the starter and cranks over, but only half way fires a little pop. Have to do this at least a dozen times before it starts and runs. Once running all is great, but fear that one of these times the battery will die trying to start it.
Anyone else with this?

My 09 is sometimes hard starting when I get low on fuel, or it is below freezing and the bike has been outside. Have found it starts better (but is probably worse on starter) if I just hold the starter the 10-15 seconds it takes to start.
