| Thanks in advance. Stopped by the Vic shop today and looked at a new 2011 Vision. Was more impressed than I thought I would be. One major issue I noticed was my sitting position seemed about a block and and a half from the bars. Clearly had to slump a little too much. I ride an Ultra now that I am getting back pain after four or five days of days of long hours in the saddle. I have had the bike for six years but like it I so tolerate it. I notice I have a very slight slump in the saddle on the Ultra. The Vision is more pronounced just sitting on it. I road a Wing for 5 years prior with no issues but sat up straight.
Are any of you 5 10" and had or did not have a similar experience, or have tried the 2" extension bars. Or is this just me.
I know we are all a little different but I seem to be proportional.
I wanted to give the Vision a try this time especially since so many swear about it's comfort for long days.
I have read nearly all the post here and this issue was not common. |

Buford, GA United States | Put a Utopia back rest on the bike and tighten the screw and it will move you forward. I am a little over 6 feet but I move the backrest back and forth just to sit in different positions during a long ride. |

Davenport, IA | Hey 5-10 guy, I am 5'8" and am loving the Vision. I did buy a Utopia backrest which does really help. When I first started looking at Victory's over a year ago, I had my mind set on a Cross Country but had a longer reach than the Vision, especially when turning sharp in tight quarters. Just the feel when I sat on the Vision told me right away that this bike was AWESOME. After time, after I purchased it, I did notice I was stretching a little while cruising. However, the Utopia backrest does work takes the slack for my short arms. |

| kmt27, thanks for the input. Being new to the vision I likely am distorting my opinion some what. Too many people feel comfortable on the Vision for me to feel so far out of whack. But the encouragement from you and your height is reassuring.
I am looking now but thinking of waiting for the 2012 models, and have not completely ruled out the Ultra again.
I would like a change though, it is in my blood.

| I am the exact opposite, 6'3" with very long arms. Loved everything about the Vision except the bars.
When my dealer got a set of Ness Drag Bars, I was hooked. I am sure you will find the bars for you. |

Quad Cities, IL | 5'9" here...and no issues with reach/comfort on my 2008 Vision. No backrest, just riding 'er as is. I personally don't feel stretched, not even when doing lock to lock turning. I can see where a backrest would add to the overall long haul comfort though. But I closing in on 20k (might hit it this weekend) and feeling good. |

| I'm 5' 9" and got rid of my back acting ultra a year ago. The vision is deceiving in the parking lot or store. When you go down the road your arms just seam to be in the right place and the high back seat gives you a nice up and down feeling. Before you know it you'll have 300 miles on and wanting more.
The vision doesn't have law suites against it like ultras do for wobbling at 60 and 70 miles a hour. Here is 5 videos you might like I sure did.

| Hey, thanks to all of you. Your enthusiasm is convincing on this issue.
I will say I have not had issues with the HD of any type since the first couple years. I like the bike.
How-ever I am getting more convinced the switch is due. The comfort while riding across this great country was a big issue for me , that is why I started this thread on my concern.
I especially want to thank the forum for answering my question with out going down other paths to who knows where and excessive bashing of other bikes. These things are common on all forums but this was refreshing and to the point. I tip my hat to Vision owners.
I feel the thread is done for my purpose. |

| Same issue here - I'm 5'8" and after a year of riding the Vision I have come to the conclusion that I need to get some pull backs. HMD's $425 + my handlebars is just a bit overpriced, and way out of my price zone. Anyone know of some lower cost solutions?
The backrest is a $200 solution, but not the best, because my butt wouldn't take full advantage of the sculpted seat. |

Georgia, west of Atlanta | 5'9" here, stock seat and bars work fine for me. longest I've stayed on the bike in one day was 550 miles in about 10 1/2 hours, stopped for food once and gas twice, no issues with back or shoulder discomfort......... |

Gettysburg, 2008 Tour Premium | I agree with John Frey. The Vision needs to be ridden to determine reach to handlebars. For me (5'9'' and a somewhat short torso the bars are almost too close. That said getting off my Ultra before I purchased the Vision the Victory gave the impression of the controls being a mile away, riding it and paying attention to the road and this impression melts away. I personally would like to try the 2'' farther forward Ness bars. |

| I'm 5' 10" and feel just fine ever after 2 thousand miles. You have to ride it show room doesn't do the trick the ride does it.
Great ride every day and yes I got rid of my new bagger for a vision and never going back |

| I'll bet you a great dinner that 9 out of 10 ultra riders never adjust there bars to fit them selves.
In stead they adjust there body to fit the bars and are always soar stiff and have shoulder and back pain.
Have stock bars on vision and and can't wait to get back on the bike. No aspirin or ben gay here just great riding.

Tucson, AZ | 5'11" also. Have the Utopia backrest and I move my position forward and back as I ride. Feels like a different bike each time I adjust it. I really changes the pressure points in the seat, which means longer riding between stops for me. Rode nothing but Harleys for 30 plus years...will never ride another.
