Doesn't this refer to the motorcycle industry?

"The leisure industry, as well as many other sectors, has been squeezed as consumers tighten spending because of the ongoing housing downturn, eroding credit, rising fuel and food costs, and recession fears."

When multi-industry corporations refer to specific lines of products, they typically use generalities...this is common method of reporting trends and can be considered a CYA when quarterly reports are releases.

Interestingly enough, since a large slice of society only ride motorcycles for pleasure, it is of the leisure industry. Some of us don't agree with that as right now I've been riding a motorcyle for over two years as my primary vehicle. However, I don't have a large concern with Victory as I do not believe they have a large inventory as would H-D or Honda. Perhaps Honda saw the writing on the wall and pulled back with the Goldwing. Over production during popularity only leads to surplus, which is what I believe Polaris is suffering in the ATV market. A phenomenon happened a few years ago in the upper mid west when the winters were so mild there was not enough snow to run the snow mobiles. So in the dead of winter folks were buying 4 wheel ATV's to run the trails instead of snow mobiles, turning the market around for those years.

I have done business for years with corp. america and when the top guy leaves the company you can expect bad news down the line. When they claim" now is the time" to leave the company because things are great, that really means the sh-t is about to hit the fan. Ride safe.
