For those that visit The Vog you may know that Traxxion Dynamics is developing new suspension and spring components for the Vision, initially, and other Vic rides eventually. I am posting here for those that may not know about this. For me, anytime we have more manufacturers creating parts and add-ons for the Vision the better. Below is my initial review of these parts on my Vision.

=================
Hello all,

I now have the Traxxion Dynamics front suspension and rear spring installed on my 2009 VTP. I believe it is the AK-20 Axxion Cartridge, If I got that wrong Max will correct me.

I have to start by saying that I went into this somewhat skeptical as I feel the Vision is one of the best riding tour machines on the market.

To make sure I had a really good feel for things, I mapped out a route of about 250 miles. This was a combination of city driving (Atlanta), highway, rural roads, twisties, and lots of hills (big and small) and lots of bumps. Click the link below to see the route. Those that have ridden in the North Georgia Mountains will know that we have a lot of great riding in these parts. I rode the Vision on this route before I dropped off the bike, then after.

With about 300 miles of riding after the installation, two words, effing awesome! There is a noticeable, positive difference. I felt a difference immediately when I picked up the bike. The front end felt "lighter". What I mean by that is before the upgrade there was a lot of resistance just turning the handlebars left to right while sitting on the bike. After, it was much smoother and easier to turn them.

Breaking is also more fluid and feels better. There is a much more controlled and smooth dip on braking, very noticeable different here. Hard and normal breaking feels better and more controlled. It "dives" less and feels smoother.

While riding it is definitely smoother through the handlebars. I used to feel a lot more of the road, vibrations I would say, not severe before, but noticeable.

You know how a lot of people complain about the rattle in the trunk? Well, the rattle in the trunk is noticeably quieter. It wasn't terrible before, but I would definitely hear the trunk rattle often. Now, I only hear it over the larger bumps. FYI, it really didn't matter before how much air was in the shock, I tried all different pressures and the trunk would rattle.

The real test would be with my better half. She rode with me about 150 miles and while she said she did not really feel much difference, she also said she may not really know what to "look for". So, that's a plus in mind because to her, it felt just as smooth and comfortable as before (keep in mind, the new shock has no bladder, it's a Penske non-air shock). I happened to noticed a difference that seemed more "fluid". Even with her just getting on the bike it doesn't dip as much as it used to. With two up it definitely seems to take bumps more smoothly than before.

The other big improvement I noticed is in the pavement seems. You know how you typically feel the seem in the center line of a two lane road? Well, it's almost non-existent. It's like butter. All kinds of bumps and dips in the road are no longer felt, much more so than before.

When I first got the bike back and taking sharper turns it felt like the bike wanted to stand up faster. What I now realize is I have more control and the bike responds to lean and counter-steer much better and faster. I like it! A lot!

Well, that's it for now. I'll give an update in a week or two after some more riding. Taking the trunk off this weekend to see how that feels.

Mike

PS - Max and his team were all professionals and friendly. Max has a very cool shop with lots of high end CNC and milling machines. I was and am positively impressed.

PSS - Another Vic was having just the front suspension replaced, Lobsterhunter I believe. Hopefully he will post his impressions as well. And dude, wash that freakin bike
