Hi Guys,
When I'm slowing down in gear with the throttle closed and pass 1750 rpm or thereabouts the engine surges as the ECM turns the fuel back on. The surge is pretty strong and can be a pain particularly when going around a slow corner. Do you notice the same thing and does anyone know of anyway to soften it up? I'm running a PCV and Autotune with Lloydz cams and aftermarket air cleaners.

Thanks,
Marc

I have virtually the same setup you have, although I didn't see your exhaust listed ( I have the Honkers ). I can make that surge appear and disappear with a specific change to the PC-V. If you post your map, I'll look at your settings and make a recommendation.

That would be great! I'll attach it. My exhaust is from Cycle Dragon which has been slightly gutted.

I would experiment with your 0% throttle column! Mine came from FuelMoto with fixed values in the 0/1000 and 0/1250 fields. However, those were off after I put in cams. So.... to get good values there, I simply told the Autotune what AFR I wanted... 13.2. But, after accepting those 'warm' trim values for what is essentially the area where the motor idles... it was a little lean during cold startup.... so.... I set the 'startup fuel' value to add about 6% fuel for the first 15 seconds.... I also told the Autotune NOT to wait for any length of time.

However... that being said, my 0% values at 1500 rpm and higher are still zero. I'm presuming they are basically at 14.7:1. You can try tweaking your 0/1500 and 0/1750 in the base map by 5% one way or the other.... that is based on seeing your map (and reviewing mine), I would lean those cells out.... try just the 1750 cell to begin with.

It will take a little experimentation, but you should get it smoothed out. When I had my KP, I had the PC3 and a handlebar mounted AEM AFR gauge..... I had to play with those two rpms at 0% a little to smooth out the decel 'hitch'.... it's definitely curable with the power commander though.

Did that make any difference?

I will also add that you would benefit by having the latest "stock" map flashed on your ECM by the dealer. The stock flash is free, though they may charge you for a half hour of tech time. Every 3-4 months, mother Vic pushes out new Digital Wrench software updates.... those updates usually include minor tweaks to the maps, including the stock maps. There are also updates to the Radio software as well.

Posting here to revive the thread and to maybe send a post notification to the original posters. Wondering about the fixes for this as discussed in a thread I started here:

Thanks!
