I'm confused; the article starts out by saying it's from the Feb 2009 issue of Motorcyclist and that they recieved the press release from Victory that morning. A few more paragraphs down it shows "MIDINA, MN, April 1, 2004" the next paragraph after that it says "Blackwell will make the jump on July 24, 2004"

Did Motorcyclist get the press release a few years late? Maybe it's kind of like VRA packages that many people are still waiting for...

Check this link: http://www.polarisindustries.com/en-us/VRA/NewsEvents/Pages/KPCRdia... and scroll down to "Recalling the Sanke River Jump"

According to Polaris "Of course, any talk of the Snake River makes many of us think back to 2004, when Victory General Manager Mark Blackwell recreated Evel Knievel?s 1974 motorcycle leap across the Snake River canyon. Unlike the famous daredevil, Blackwell, riding a nearly-stock Victory Vegas, successfully cleared the canyon"
