I remember there was a post about folks not being able to find the little round nub on their kick stand to put it down...so I made an extention. It is out of aluminum, and is stilletto-style. here are some pics of it on the bike, kickstand up, and down. Anybody interested in one? Or maybe one not as pointy, or different style? PM me. ------Metalguy

That looks nice, but here is what I was thinking about from Kury-Akyn.

MG that reminds me of Deathrace 2000 or Mad Max style, it's functional though and looks nice. Personally, I hit me kickstand everytime, I don't seem to have that problem. I'm been forgetting to put it up lately though, thankful it is more forgiving than a Wing.

One question about the sidestand on the the Vision. Is there an engine cutoff switch if the bike is put in gear with the sidestand down as on all Hondas and Yamahas?

I have accidently left mine down a couple of times as well. I did find out that the rubber pad underneath does its job of putting the stand up for you!! The kurya---kin?? Mount looks like it may work, but I would wanna see it on a bike first. Mine is just a prototype, and I will test it out, and maybe see if different styles can be better choices. ----Metalguy

NO - thank goodness! That to me is such a nuisance.

I'd be interested in one, but more rounded at the tip as it has the potential to come in contact with my ankle and boot.

It can be done, no problem. I just did the design as seen because it was quick, and easy. I have been pm-ing with other forum members, and we have talked about different ends for it like skulls, and such. Anything within reason is doable, as I will be making all of these myself. Customization will be fairly easy for me to do.-----Metalguy

We finally have some good weather, and I have been testing this unit out. I am happy to say that it is about the right length, and is easy to find with my heel when up. I will test out some other end shapes. Skulls were mentioned, and I got to thinking I can basically thread the end for about any tip, like dice, maltese cross, larger round ball, square, what have you. But so far, I am enjoying its utility.----Metalguy

Savannah, GA -Year round riding!! Yay!

Looks good, as a prototype.

Maybe a thread for a valve stem cover, then some Loctite? I'm scared of the pointy (used to have stiletto ends on my bars on my VTX 1300, then a friend's wife flipped me- long story- and I rethought the stiletto ends)...

I still wanna see the pics of your bike with the mailbox bags!

I have posted some pictures of a beautifuly crafted high quality extension for my kickstand that Metalguy made
Sorry the qulity of the pictures does not do justice to his work
I know skulls are not for everyone but this is a custom piece made by metalguy with a license plate bolt and it works great
Think of the possibilities with his talents
Thanks again Metalguy

Thank you for all the compliments! I still have the original one on my bike, and it has caused no problems with catching on anything but my boot heel. Been busy riding, tho. Over 8.000 miles since November. I recently found out my Dad is having some trouble finding the kickstand end for his GL1800, so I may have to make one for his 'wing, too!-----Metalguy

Basically any design that can bolt onto the end can be incorporated. So far I have seen skulls, wolf heads, maltese crosses, indian heads, eagle heads, .44 mag cartridge ends, (I prefer .45 myself) If you have it, I can probably make it to fit. I can and have bought some of the ones listed above, or I can incorporate something you may have. For instance, if you own a pistol, or rifle, and want a cartride that was actually used in it to be the end of the side stand extention, I can make that happen. All you would need to do is send it to me. I wouldn't reccomend anything plastic, or with lots of small pieces, as they would probably break off. (like a spider with long legs, or a crossbones, for example) If you have something specific you would like, please, feel free to PM me, and we can swap info. -----Metalguy

Hey, Luke,

That looks good! It's hard to tell from the pics, is it the 2 7/8" or the 4 3/8" extension? I'm sure it's easier to find now.

It's the 4 3/8" Universal Kickstand Extension. Kuryakyn part # 7108. Got it from J&P Cycles.

MG, I love the idea and your work. no pointy tip for me. I have enough body piercings. lol. the end may be a nice spot to pay tribute for me to a friend... I hate looking for my stand so, yes. great idea.

Basically any end can be installed. So any item you want to thread onto the end can be incorporated. I am planning on making myself another one with a skull end on it, that as lit eyes (L.E.D.). That should be fun! I wil tie the wire for it into the lit side emblem circuit.---Metalguy
