Varyder is accurate, no '08 Vision manual. I found a thread to instruct me how to change the clock, so that helped. Thanks for the help though.

Don't worry about mistaking my bike for another, it is a 2010 Ocean Blue/Sandstone, a good Naval Aviation color combo. I'll keep an eye out for you and your new ride.

Sorry 'bout that. I still have "There's a vision in my garage" shock. It'll be a week before I come back down to earth. Obviously heard about both of you from different folks and merged the details.

Joel, you have confused Len Rhymes' black and lime green '08 with Darryl who is the CMA member and has a much newer (2010 I think) Vision (I can't remember what color Darryl's is).
BTW I'm CoolHandLuke and ride the '08 Midnight Cherry Vis and live over here on the Southside like Len.

Thanks for the clarification. Cool to hear about other riders in the community.

And pearl white-Harley brags incessantly about its paint, but Victory has some serious colors of its own. I haven't seen one like yours in the flesh yet, but I bet you can't hardly look at your new scoot in the bright sunlight! Good on ya!

The whole story is that I was considering a black 2010 from an out of town dealer. I went to the Fuel-it demo ride at Jax Powersports. One of the salesman asked me if I wanted to buy one, told him I had a deal going. He asked if I wanted him to try and match it locally, I said go for it. He said no 2010, but they had a 2011 on the way in a couple of weeks. He would get pretty close to the deal I had goin and it was a year newer so I said cool, what color? He said white. I said what about red? He said 3 months. I said, I can deal with white. I thought I was settling.

When he called me and said it was in I went down and watched them put it together. When the sun hit that Pearl white, I was astounded. Everyone that sees it has to comment on how it looks. It really is a beautiful color, and it's mine!

I have several pics at the link below.

It has been over two years since I rode my Vision home. I promise you that if I walked in the garage right now there would be a smile on face as soon as I saw it!

Welcome. I'm fairly new here myself and have immensely enjoyed my '10 bat bike (color at the other end of the spectrum :-) ) Victory has really built a remarkable piece of art and engineering for us to enjoy.

Did you eventually use the stock cover over the Thrush? What did you use to anchor it on the back end? Extremely intrigueing to me as I saw on your other thread that you really dug the sound, and, frankly, my S1L2 still sounds kinda weak in comparison to all the hogs I gotta put up with. I can't afford a bunch of dough for factory stuff, but , man, if a hundred bucks and some elbow grease does the trick sound-wise, well, there ya go!

I used the rear original mount with muffler strap. That was the tricky part. I will revisit the mount job again as I want something more rigid. It holds it, but the original used bolts and a mounted (welded) flange on the muffler.

Yes, the heatshields are mounted to the new muffler. Have to use pipe clamps as the original straps have to be cut off.

I haven't heard an s1l2 live. I am guessing, based on what I've read people comment, that it must be similar. These Thrush pipes are louder than stock, they are open baffles. They aren't as loud as a Harley with drag pipes or even pig pipes. They are low and smooth, but I don't see people snapping their head around when I drive by like I'm used to.

The way Victory has designed the system, I just don't know if there will be a way to get that type of sound. Everything for the Vision seems to be pretty mellow. Maybe something to do with the in-line cats? I have always had reasonably loud pipes on every bike I've had.

I don't have to argue the point, but loud pipes have repeatedly made my presence known to drivers that would otherwise not know I was in their blind spot. I want them looking for me before they see me and I accomplish that with an exhaust that has an earth shaking rumble, thats how I'm wired. These pipes do not accomplish that. They are cheap, louder than stock and very pleasing... but thunderous they are not.

I am still searching for those pipes, but I haven't seen any.

One way to find out the difference. If you are willing to remove the side lowers so you can get to everything, you could pick up a pair of thrush or cherry bombs. Save your receipt. Remove your mufflers, slide on the new ones. Don't clamp them on or add the tail pipe. Once you clamp them it makes permanent marks and they won't take them back. Fire it up and listen to the contrast. You can't ride it but you have listened to your pipes enough to know how they compare. If it isn't more, put yours back on and return the others.

or drive to FL and we can do a side by side.

One more thing about the THrush mufflers. The end caps were difficult. The black curved inner part is not attached to the chrome part of the end cap. I don't know if it's this way on all years but that black part is welded to the stock muffler. I had to cut the welds to get it off. I wanted it as part of my system, so I welded it to the chrome piece.

It worked but now I have to do some finishing to hide my tack welds or get a different end cap. Just wanted to share the good bad and ugly of the whole thing.

It sure sounds throatier without the end caps, huh? It loses that"Phttt" kinda sound when you back off the throttle if the caps are off. Thanks for the demo!

Joel,
Welcome to the Pearl White club. I have a 2010 pearl white and absolutly love it. I bought it in February and already have 6,000 miles on it. When we bought ours there were not many pearl white around. I bought from my local dealer here in Lathrop, California. Kind of a funny story is after we bought it we were on a ride to the bay area and stopped by the Arlen Ness dealership in Dublin. They were shocked to see a white one. They had not been able to get one. The dealer I got mine from is a small dealer in a small town. The manger at Ness was wondering how they got one (in his words in a "podunk town") and the Ness delaership didn't. The manager was on the phone with his rep immediately. It wasn't long before they had one on their sales floor. I have to laugh every time I think of it. Score one for the little guys. Anyway, you will definitely enjoy the bike as well as all the attntion from gaukers

It does sound better. In fact, I pulled the stock end caps and put on some 4" resonator tips. I don't know if it adds or just opened up, but I did about 100 miles today and the bike is ferocious.

I may have underestimated how big a difference these Thrush mufflers make. I have literally no popping, even during decel. But when I go under overpasses at 55-65 it is thunderous. It is more responsive and I am enjoying the heck out of it. Now it feels like a muscle bike, and sounds like it too.
