I just bought a holdover VV. and had the lowers installed before i picked up the bike...IMHO they are the best option for the bike, the only thing I'd like to see them improve on the quality by making them heavy enough to be adjustable with your feet. Maybe they could be made of metal as std issue and with a ratchet type adjustment, adjustable per-click, if you will... I removed and sparyed the inside of the clear plastic with black paint, much less obtrusive on the bikes clean lines, using KRYLON paint for plastic, follow the instructions it worked wonderfully and I also painted the uppers, same procedure... Good Luck...

Hey there Scott, congrats on the new scoot. There's no need for the factory to do them in metal as I already offer them in billet aluminum in may color powder coats as well as chrome sets. We also offer matching uppers too. Many members here have them and I'm sure they'll chime in and give you the skinny on them. Member price in gloss black is only $135 for lowers . Actually, right now we're running a sale through Midnight Saturday. As for adjustablilty, you can set the tension on the hinges with an allen key.

They're ugly. They're cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Wouldn't be without them, but they're ugly.
