New Bohemia, VA | I always understood that Bentley's made fine cars and I had a high school teacher who owned one and found it to be the best car in technology, and this was back in the 70's. So in the back of my mind if I was ever able to afford a true luxury car it would be a Bentley. So today, I'm in line checking on something at the storage place, and another guy says, "I like your Bentley." Well thinking about his possible ignorance, I quickly correct him, and say, "Its a Victory Vision." He replies "I know, but its a Bentley of motorcycles." So now I have a name for my Vision - Bentley, and I finally own a Bentley! |

rhode island | varyryder I think arlen must also be a fan Bentleys, the lines are unmistakable. The 54 is nice but late model GT's are awesome.

Florida | Great analogy as Bentley's have gone through a resurgence in recent years. In South Florida, there is a long waiting list and those that have purchased them, love them. Believe it or not, they are a dime a dozen here and don't even get a second look these days. (What recession?).
It's hard to believe that Bentley is owned by Volkswagen! |

Las Vegas, Nevada USA baby! | I read about some Bentleys using the VW W-12 engine. A three bank-of-four cylinders engine that was a design from many years ago.
Do you remember the Feuling W-3 motorcycle from back in 2000? Mr Feuling has since passed away, and I haven't heard much about it. That was quite a design of a three bank H-D style design.

Edradio, perhaps I met you before. That audio clip mentions the teddy bear also. That's funny because I used to ride with a teddy bear in a bombardier jacket on the back of the wing. It actually saved me from getting a ticket one morning too. |

New Bohemia, VA | I still got the GL1500 which is a nice machine, but it can't compare to the Vision. I finally got it tagged again so I ride and advertise to sell it. I took it out on the road and the first thing I notice is that I sat up high and it felt like I was on the backhoe seat of a JD310. The Corbin seat is a nice saddle but I felt too rigid sitting in it. Also, all the foot controls are under me so that made it work to change gears and brake. Everything took thought to accomplish it, like doing deliberetly instead of second nature. After 2 years of riding the GL1200 I was very comfortable in handling the bike, but it was all deliberate actions. I took the GL1500 out on the Interstate and I thought I was flying up the entrance ramp but when I looked at the speedo I was a least 15mph slower than I would be on the Vision. On the Vision I could go faster but that would considerably exceed the speed limit. I hated stopping on the GL1500 because I thought I would drop it every time. I was able to balance a slow crawl to keep from putting my feet down, giving time for the car in front to clear. The GL1500 has a nice air envelop with the tall windsheild, but it makes it look like your behind the bulletproof glass at a gas station or a movie theater.
I'm not trying to slam the GL1500, I'm just making observation that I thought I'd share. The Vision is such a great ride that I wish I could ride 24/7. |
