For the few times you adjust the shock? Just buy the air pump and do the mod that mounts in the saddlebag.
If you are talking for air horns, you will loose a LOT of saddlebag space.

I believe there is spacing somewhere on the Vision to mount an air compressor. If I was going with a luxury item for the Vision, this would be it, because, albeit, it takes a few moments to air up the rear shock, I hate stopping when I forget and I'm riding two up. It would be nice just to hit the button to increase/decrease pressure and smooth out the ride. Also, conditions sometimes changes underway and an adjustment might be necessary as well. Can I live without it? I have, but it would be a nicety and I would have that over reverse any day.

Wonder if there is a way to mount a Goldwing type air pump system? What do they have for a switch for pump/release? Could it mount in the unused hole in our dash? I've never looked at a GW that close to remember where all that mounts. I suppose the big issue would be the gauge, since I assume the GW has that in the driver information center or something electronic.

Is there a risk of not knowing how much air is in the shock then when u add a onboard compressor u overfill it to the point of damaging it? What would stop over filling it? Or monitoring it without using the hand pumps gauage..? Just askn. id imagine thw wings set has all this built in? no?

The mounting of the compressor wouldn't be a big deal, there are some small compressors that would work. The big job would be putting in the controls. That would take some engineering. I knew Wings had the pumps, but I think I was told Honda stopped putting the pump on the bike, is that true?

Thanks Varyder. I'm glad to hear there is someone else out there of the same mind. I've found a place to put a small compressor under the seat on the same side as the fill valve. I am currently searching for a electronic sending unit and pressure gauge. The release valve can be solenoid operated. Locating an over pressure system is another concern. Maybe a pressure limit switch set at shock max pressure would work.
All you electronics guys out there may have some sources that I'm unaware. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yep the pre-88 Wings had the onboard and that would likely be the way to go. You'd need to have the compressor relief adjusted so you didn't over pressurize the Vision shock but otherwise an EASY install (they had an isolated compressor).
Yes Honda went away from the air shocks and forks in favor of electronic preset suspension (much more reliable).
I agree it isn't worth the hassle over a 2 minute job with the hand pump.

Here's a great source of info as well as system components for an on-board compressor for an air suspension. I contacted the folks at Arnott Air Suspension Systems through their web site and got a number of replies as well as a kit recommended for the VV.

Below is a link to the page on there site that lists all the manuals for the model specific kits they sell. Obviously we would only be adding the compressor and control circuits so we don't need the full kit. Their pricing seemed reasonable to me. I believe there is space on the Vision in the radio compartment in the rear trunk area if you don't have the CB unit already.

If you look up any of bike manuals listed for bikes with a mono-shock rear suspension you will see a diagram of what a Vision system would look like. Here's the link, explore and you will discover lots of info that applies. http://www.arnottairsuspension.com/manuals/index.asp

Good luck and let us know what you think.
