OHIO | My work took me to a Can Am dealer yesterday, so I spent a little time looking at these. I considered one before buying the Vision in 08, but did not like the lack of options,,, no radio, heat anything. In two years since,, WOW have they changed. I really like them now, but have never rode one so maybe I would change my mind after riding. Anybody here ever ride one, or considered one before the Vision???? |

Kansas | I too looked at these before I bought the Vision. I didn't like the riding postion with my knees high and ankles back. Also didn't like having to keep the rear wheel on the crown of the road, otherwise you stray in the lane. Plenty of performance and like the Vision, you are outside of the box. |

OHIO | I thought it was quite ironic the dealer I was at use to carry Victory, but stopped and started Can Am.
They now have heated grips and seat (I think), with electric windshield.... I wonder where that came from,,, LOL
Also have a radio now.

I thought the concept was cool until I rode one. Lots of pep, kind of snow-mobile like. I know there may be a time for a trike, but not being able to lean into the turns kills it for me. |

Memphis | My dealer also sells CanAm. There is a place in downtown Memphis (the hood) that bought some from my dealer and rents them out. They brought one in complaining that it already needed a rear tire replaced in only a few thousand miles. The dealer hooked it up to the computer and saw that the rear tire had over 300 more miles on it than the front two tires. The guys renting them were doing burnouts and drag racing them by the hour. Gotta love technology. There are a lot more Spyders on the road around here than Visions. My dealer had his fourth record month in a row in March. Victory/CanAm/Truimph. LaPorte,Tx. | Talked to a couple of guys in my area that have them, they really like the handling. Very go cart like and they are fast, that attacks many. The guys I talked to indicated to me the bike is easy to ride, much easier than a traditional trike. They have a reasonable price and a expanded dealer network which most sell their Sea Doo. I've also seen them have demo day set ups just like the Victory truck. I can see why they are becoming popular. |

LONDONDERRY NH | I drove one for a while and thought it was too underpowered. Nice bike if you want a trike or have a disability though |

Northeast Ohio | Rode the sport shift touring model in Daytona. RedDog, the one I rode had heated seats, grips, radio and electric windshield. I enjoyed it, but won't give up the Vision for it.
Turning and lane changes were touchy to say the least. It is like riding a street version of an ATV.

| Variety is the spice of life.
Good to see riders have another option.
I test rode the Sport model the first year it came out. The lean forward style isn't for me. The most important thing to me is no hand brake. Riding with my right foot over the break pedal all the time would make my old legs ache over time.
I plan to take the new Touring model out when Higgin's has a demo model available. |

SC, Bluffton | The new "RT" (haven't sat on one yet) widened the front end 3" and moved the foot pegs up further. They should sit more comfortably opposed to the more feet under your knees of the "RS" models.
I have been considering one of these, but I have been reading on the www.spiderlovers.com board of a steering computer system problem on many models. It is covered under warranty, but still a mystery like Toyota's braking.

OHIO | I saw 2 of them on the road today, no Visions sorry to say.
You would think they would put a floorboard on them.
I find them pretty intriguing, and if I did not have my 08 Vision...... I would be test riding the 2010 Spyder, followed by the 2010 Vision, then decide.
I like reading the comments about them on here. Good read!! |
