Subject: Low Profile Motorcycle Dolly

OK, I know that the website indicates the Vision wheelbase to be around 65.7 inches and the Harbor Frieght Low Profile Motorcycle Dolly to be 75.5 inches between the pins. BUT, last night looking at my Vision, the wheelbase seemed much longer than 65.7 inches and probably more that 75.5. Does anyone here use this dolly and will it work for a Vision? I have one... Tight fit but it works fine. I used it all winter and was able to roll it out on nice days.

I've seen a picture of a Vision on this dolly, its somewhere around this site. It was a pretty tight fit.

For a few hundred more, you can get a J&S Jack. I bought one last week and am impressed with the quality and customer service. You could use the jack as a dolly too.

It would be a slam dunk if they made an adapter for the Freedom 106 engine.

Hey, Paul (RT),

Yep, that was a nice little visit. I got that IPod cable and it works well with my bike, so that part worked out. I emailed the bike jack folks (their website says that it works for the Vision) and got this reply:

Our lift will work with the Vision....we send a dense pad along to level out the frame when it contacts our lift arms. If you decide to place an order, be sure to mention that you have a Vision so we send the pad along with the order. You can make a note on the PayPal order, or you can just mention it if you call us with your order. (No charge for the pad).  I also try to keep track of the people that ask about this so we don't miss sending the pad along.

So, now I have some deciding to do.

They give me an extra pad for the left rear of the engine. While I won't climb onto the rear seat like they do in the video, it is very secure up there.

I think so. I didn't try it, but will the next time it is up. Garage floor is older and has a nasty crack in it. I might get stuck.

i have one of these in my shed,
the VV is the easiest bike ive owned to get onto the unit, it can lift them quite high, and both wheels can be removed.

here is the Oz, website , i believe there is a US distributor, Good and solid, and simple

Bike can be raised using a power drill on the lifting screw or i just have a socket handle on mine, and it works easy enough

I was ready for a bike wind the first time the VV went on, but up she went no dramas

I have had a JS Jack for my Vision for over a year now and have posted photos here of my Vision on it.  To answer your question, it moves around fine on the dolly and is re-positioned fairly easily by one person.  I also have the pad they send and it works to level the bike.  However, I use the jack without the pad for oil changes as it very slightly tilts to the drain plug side.  The tilt is very minor and doesn't seem to compromise stability at all, but gives the benefit of a better drain volume (not tested, but common sense would suggest it).   The JS Jack raises the bike pretty high at full lift and is more compact than some I've seen.
