East TN | I have started using my CB while on the interstate. It seems to me that the range/distance is not that good for a CB...Best i can GUESS I am getting about 1 to MAYBE 2 miles of transmit out of the thing ('09 Vision with all updates)...I would expect better for a CB band type radio.... Even receive seems to be weak as I can not hear that many truckers other than the ones close to me, say 2 or 3 miles away from the Interstate all CB traffic fades away... What have you allexperienced with your CB??? |

Houston, Texas | I use my factory CB when riding in a group and it is not unusual to talk five or six miles on flat terrain and two to three miles in hilly/mountainous terrain and the reception is almost double that...
The HD riders I ride with are always complaining about how much better my CB radio sounds than their bikes with the factory HD CB
The only issue I have with my CB is it will stop transmitting after maybe ten seconds......probably the PTT switch....it is my understanding there were some problems with the early CB/intercom switch modules .... out of warranty now so I live with it

Jasper, MO | Something isn't quite right there Joe. You should be able to talk 5 or 6 miles in level terrain, and sometimes even farther if you are out in the wide open spaces with no electrical interference around. Is your CB set for local or distant? Your receive range will be limited to only a mile or so if set to local. If it's set for distant, I would check the antenna and ground connections.

New Bohemia, VA | I don't really use mine enough to know all the details, but I do know the mike set sucks. At the house though it seems to pick up around 4 or 5 miles and talk just as far. I think it might be around 3 miles on the road, but no one can understand me with the mike. |

It is set to distant...I was thinking about taking it to a CB shop and let them do a SWR reading and output check....

Was convinced that my CB unit was bad UNTIL Spock allowed me to try his J&M elite headset.</p><p>We swapped helmets, and all of a sudden, my CB was working great and his was acting poorly.</p><p>I immediately ordered two sets (one for me and one for my wife) of J&M elite headsets w/AeroMike II (along with the required Vision downcords) from gearupaz.com (best pricing I could find on J&M).</p><p>I can now transmit and receive as expected with my CB unit.</p> |

| I have a 2010 Victory Vision Premium Blue w/ GPS -CB stage one, I cannot hear the CB in my head set when turned all the way up nor can anyone else hear me transmit, The sound is so low no one can hear me. Any Suggestons?  Yes I have the factory system and Head Set. |

East TN | My guess would be the headsets....My J&M headsets CRANK out the audio!! THe J&M ELite headsets ALMOST sound better than the Visions speakers!! |
