The covers are not plastic... They are thick stamped steel...

Arizona Vic has an exchange program for most of the parts of the Vision. The do offer exchanges on tipovers. The factory Vic chome tipovers look like azz as they left some of the tipover rough cast. The chrome metal covers are nice and smooth...

Think long and hard before you decide to chrome that radio console. With the windshield in anything other than the fully down position, your gonna get a nasty reflection in the upper portion of your windshield. That is why you see many people painting the console to match or painting it flat black...

I'm with Adam on on both points. Having the Tipovers chromed ends up looking like hell because the rough texture doesn't lend to the polished chrome. The tipover chrome plates seem kinda cheesy but they do stand up. I can't remember reading any complaints from anyone once they got them installed. Also, the chrome radio plate would kill me in the sunlight, especially in the afternoon. I'm going to get rid of the plastichrome instrument bezel because of the glare from it onto the windsheld. They sell an OEM blacked out one that could easily be painted to match your bike. A "whited-out" bike would be genuinely unique and still classy too!

I took the instrument bezel off the STARSHIP; bought a can of Black Satin KRYLON paint and shot it myself....let it dry for three days and popped it back on.

Total cost $5.39

I'm just saying...

You can buy the black instrument bezel from the Ness Vision for like $35.00 bucks as I recall. It looks good and with the radio panel painted black it nearly ends the glare. If I had it to do over again I would most certainly have the winshield panel (and grill) powdercoated instead of painted black like I did. Granted it looked nice when first installed but the paint does NOT stand up to road conditions and chips look like hell!!! I had the grill, windshield panel, and radio panels painted black by a reputible body shop and now am not at all satisfied with the results when you get up close to the bike. It looks good from a distance but once you look close it is painfully obvious that powdercoating was the way to go!! But like I said it looks GOOD as long as you don't stare, which does seem to be a bit of a problem with a Vision!!!

We've been doing some black chrome on the instrument bezel which looks awesome for customers. YOu dont get the glare but it looks better then the black paint. We're doing a black chrome front fender treatment on a bike now, should look cool once done.

The chrome rear tipovers are nice, they are not plastic paint, Keep in mind boys that if you drop the bike you can pop off the overlays
much cheaper then you can pay to re-purchase and re-chrome the originals.
