I have seen multiple threads complaining that Victory is not taking care of their known problems on the Vision. the latest being the shift indicator. I got to say I have not had that problem meaning all my problems get fixed. My dealer takes care of my problems without whining. Guess I got my Vision from the right dealer! What are you others experiencing with your dealers?

My dealer is the same. Mainely Action Sports treats me and my bikes pretty darn good.
Are they your dealer also?

ez, Victory does a great job when under the 12 month factory warranty. The problem occurs when the "malfunction" or "defect" occurs, shows up, etc while on the extended warranty. For example YOU have a defective headlite (whether you know it or not) and if you are on tha factory warranty it will be handled no problem. BUT if the problem reoccurs (and it will) say two months later and you are on the extended your dealer isn't going to eat $400+ dollars in headlite AND labor to install it. Particularly when it will be bad AGAIN in 2 months.

Thats where I'm at right now. I'm on my 3rd headlite and the fourth is bad. Polaristar has agreed to replace the headlite as "good faith" since the curent one was only on the bike for a month before going bad, BUT they want me to pay labor for the install. As it turns out the LAST headlite the dealer ate as Polaristar wouldn't pay for it. They say its cosmetic and not a failure. I beg to differ when water is getting inside the headlite its a failure.
So what I'm saying is there are LIMITS to how far a dealer will go. My dealer has been pretty good to me, but at some point it is about making money not losing.

Oh and I was serious YOUR headlite is defective, they ALL are and Victory hasn't done a damn thing to correct it.

My dealer just replaced my headlight assembly Saturday - it had water in it. I've been out of regular warranty for nearly a year now and am into extended warranty right now.  I have a GREAT dealer (Victory-Suzuki Warehouse in Birmingham, AL - formerly American Cycles Center).

Can someone shed some light on the Victory warranty/extended warranty please?? I have been trying to research this very issue over the last month or so ever since I started having electrical issues with my headlight. Long story short.....my headlight started going out and the front left fuse box became too hot to even touch. The ONLY light that would stay on was the HID light. Dealer here worked and worked and ended up replacing much of the wiring/wiring harness on the bike. I didn't really think much of it because I had warranty work before and NEVER had to pay a dime. I dropped it off and went about my business and when the dealer said it was ready and that will be $1,300 please...I about had a heart attack!! I have the extended warranty but I am still currently under the 1 year mind you. I have been trying to get the question answered as to "what the heck?" now for a month but no satisfactory response. Any suggestions/comments??

It seems dealer and warranty issues abound nationwide. Maybe Victory needs to drop it's third party extended warranty and extend the warranty directly through the factory like Honda.

Gadget, the Victory factory warranty covers everything for 1 year. The extended warranty through polaristar covers BREAKDOWN. So if your power ws motor goes out they replace it, but if the chrome peels off your pipes, oh well.

So, what is the consensus on the extended warranty, from those who have it and have needed it? Is it worth having? My dealer is discouraging me from purchasing the extended warranty, and says it's not worth paying for as getting approval for repairs under the plan is nigh to impossible. He is a good dealer and has always treated me right. I need to decide in the next three weeks if I'm going to get the extended plan or not. My bike has been trouble free so far......................

Ronnie, it all depends on the price your dealer will give you the extended for. I've heard all kinds of wild numbers BUT it should cost no more than $600 for the additional 4 years. There is NO problem getting polaristar to pony up and/or authorize repairs IF it is BREAKDOWN. I'm going to use the same example I used earlier, the headlite. ALL the Vision headlites are defective, not all leak internally. If they begin to leak they are broken and polaristar will replace them, BUT it is dependent upon the dealer describing the FAILURE properly. If they right up the upper lense is discolored and tiny fractures are present it won't be covered as that is "cosmetic" which the warranty won't cover. However if they write it up as the headlite failed allowing water to enter lense, it will be covered as a failure. In the aforementioned scenario the headlite sosts OVER $400 and with labor to replace another $150 minimum. Thats your $600 extended warranty paying for itself in one repair. If your radio craps out that to would pay for the warranty.
You'll need to decide for yourself if it is money worth spending or whether you'll toss the dice.

When one repair over four years pays for itself and two would be money in the bank, sounds like an easy decision.
That being said, you need your dealer to go to bat for you.
Just this week, I found a good sized crack inside of my left saddlebag.
My dealer looked at it and took some pictures. He spent like 25 minutes writing it up trying to answer all their questions before hand.
They sent an e-mail back saying denied. No phone call, no explanation.
He then called them, taking about half an hour. The rep said all bikes that get lowered will eventually crack a bag.
Well, no lowering here. He had to go round and round with the guy.
Finally it got approved, but Polaris put some kind of notation on my account saying I need to check my shock air pressure more often.
Would all dealers have gone the extra mile, I would hope so but think not.

Get the extended plan. I have had two trannys replaced on that plan on two older bikes. I have not had any major problems with the Hammer or the Vision, but if I do, I do have a plan to turn to. ET
