Metalguy, I love it.

Tell your Dad to take a digital picture, and post it here, or at least on the www.gl1800riders.com board.

metalguy - 2009-09-27 8:57 PM If I were to make them, I would charge around $250 for a set. -------Metalguy

I'm kinda interested in a set. Reason I say kinda is because I'm already running Gatlins. In order to truly decide I'd need to see a set of these in person. Gotta get that touchy-feely thing going on I guess.

Considering that the Vic Gatlin tips are about $300 I think you are priced just about right. However if you can make them "spin"....well now we are talking a bit of a different ballgame. Or if you have them chromed or powder coated black....oh the options.

Making them spin is not too hard...making the bearings last in a hot exhaust...problem. The exhaust is quite hot on these bikes. The stainless has gotten a bronze sheen to it from the heat...but that happens at over 400 degrees, anyway. I know the tailgunner tips cost a fortune...like $600. WAY too much. As for a pic of these on my Dad's GL1800, I will have to take it...he is a bit un-techy.-----Metalguy

Heres a starting point I just googled "ceramic bearings". They look expensive but only when compared to bearings that will fail, so like Mr. Natural always said, "Use the right tool for the job".
