Has anyone noticed the new model-Cross Country has bigger side saddlebags at 21gal. They are
more spacious than the Visions side bags. Why not add to the top model as well ?

It is rumored Victory is working on it and larger bags were due on the 2010's, just a rumor.

Im guessin its the style meets function deal. The bags are even bigger than the old TC bags. That alone makes this bike appeal to me. Gonna be a while before I get tired of the Vision though. And Im purty sure I aint gonna wear it out.

Yeah, somewhere in all that info and pics I've been checking out on the Crosses there's a photo of the right bag open and inside is what looks like the luggage liner from a vision plus a half helmet. Hey!! I can't do that on my big touring bike!

My take on the cross countryand and cross roads is..how can you make a bike to compete with the street glide and road king with out a tour pack option?..

come on boys, you all know if the side bags on the vision were any wider/deeper/longer the look of the bike would be way too
disporportional. a straight line cruiser like the cross country isnt concerned that the bags integrate with the flow of the rest of the bikes plastic and profile. Before you start whining lemme ask you this
RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU ARE WILLING TO TRADE IN YOUR VISION FOR A CROSS COUNTRY BECAUSE OF LARGER SADDLE BAGS

...... I thought not.

They got to wait a few years, or us small bag owners will be upset with them for not doing it in the first place.

I disagree. That Vision Trike looks darn cool! Slap me some big beetle looking saddlebags, like those fender wells, and I'd be styling (and scraping).

each person is going to have their motivation to buy a CC vs a Vision Tour. My motivator is not the saddlebags. I waited like everyone else to get a first glimpse of this bike that has been rumored to compete with the UC. I will admit they did a great job in the design and using the Vision platforms is a plus. I was wondering how they were going to do it and I know I now. But I would never tried off my Vision for a Cross Country as for me it is a step below the Vision. I would almost give up my tour for an 8-Ball, but I keep reminding myself I'm an old geezer that's been riding for about 4 years again and not a biker.

The CC is just shy on fuel capacity and does not have the pilot/pillion protection the Vision has, a very important part for me in touring. I don't like to stop even for the rain, but had I been riding a CC yesterday, I might have. After riding 10 miles in the pouring rain in only a t-shirt and bluejeans I was only moderately wet, on the CC I would have been drenched and caved in like them sports biker cheering me on while they sat under the overpass.

I had to come to grips that not everyone will buy a Vision because it is the best bike on the planet. The CC is Victory's attempt to woo the "I've got to have harley looking bike but I'm sick of harleys" crowd. I know, you think I'm bashing, but it is far from that, but most folk won't go Vision not only because they think it looks absurd, but it is a fixed faring job. So, with the CC that excuse is gone on both accounts. But if I had bought a Cross Country first, I would still be looking for graduation day when I would own a Vision.

Could be a lot of truth in that. Even among the HD riders the Road Glide is somewhat of a pariah.

Come on now VA who are you trying to sell??? We ALL own Visions and they do not offer "keep you dry in the rain" protection. Drier than you would be on most bikes yes, but if it is "pouring for 10 miles" your wet, real fricken wet.
If EVERYONE liked the SAME bike, there would be no need for CHOICES....
I believe Victory is doing what they can to attract folks to their bikes. If that takes a "little" similarity to HD models thats what the company is going to do. Hows that old saying go "it is easier to hang onto happy customers/owners than to attract new."

ok, no problem, I think the point is that they are appealing to the markets, nothing wrong or negative.

Even at 70mph in the pouring rain, not drizzle, pouring, my shirt was flapping, my back was dry and my crotch was wet from the run off down the "tank" onto the seat. It is what it is.

Va, my point was not to insult you, nor question your integrity but I don't think you know how often you SELL the Vision to folks who OWN one. Every time someone says anything that can be interpreted as remotely negative you come to the sale. It is a machine, they break, they all have something folks would like to change if ever so slightly. We liked something or we wouldn't own them.
Now that the new touring models are being released by Victory, Vision owners are going to be asking why the new bike got this and that and why the flagship didn't?.... this is natural. Just today we have saddlebag space and lights on the board postings. I'm actually fine with whats on the bike, both bags and lights.
I wouldn't want anyone to buy a Vision based on a wrong assumption. I would rather have new folks who do NOT own a Vision come here and see something that makes them buy something else, than to have someone come here and read something that isn't based in fact and then be PISSED OFF about their purchase because it wasn't as WE stated. WE (You, me and the other 08 owners) are the pioneers. We took the gamble and have a responsibility to post accurately the good things and the bad. You know me from my posts and I always call it as is; whether its good or bad. However what you may not think/know is that I really love my bike. Sure there are things that I find less than perfect, but I can find that on bikes that have been around for years or even decades. Believe it or not I have my Vision doing the "Ride like a Pro" manuevers, oh ya!!!
So while we should post all the GREAT things about our bike (and there are many great things about the Vision) we also need to be careful to not get carried away. I KNOW you really love the bike you own, but it does sell itself...
Oh and doing 70 down the interstate in a "steady" rain, my face is soaked, my chest is soaked, my crotch is soaked.... and that's with the tall ws or stock, up, down or any position in between. My feet and legs are dry, lol..... Enjoy my friend.... T

Major changes on the Vision will not be made for awhile in my opinion. So getting a bigger bag may not happen for awhile. Getting LEDs will probably happen soon, not this year probably due to supplier contracts.
The one thing about the Vision is it will always be a bike of conversation. It will draw a crowd and comments, good and bad.

I've never had a problem with the capacity of the Vision side bags.  A lot of non-riders that I've shown the bike to are shocked that the side panels even open up, much less hold anything.  It is so integrated and streamlined that they thought it was just aerodynamic fairing.

I remember when the Vision came out and some guys were really chapped that the side bags were not removable.  I had a Concours with huge, removable saddle bags and those suckers could really catch a crosswind.  (I read that the bags on both Cross bikes are removable.  Dzus fasteners.) I'm with Varyder, the trade-off for me wouldn't be worth it.  I think they can make the current capacity quite a bit larger under the skins with some creative re-molding.

Unsurpassed comfort, protection from the elements, more bells and whistles than any car or truck I have ever owned, over the top styling that never ceases to amaze and a tang that only I can find (first try).  I think I'll keep her.

I'll wave as I blow through the overpass.

you know, I've got to keep my reputation of getting the monkey on some people. ride on. dang, I missed the storm tonight. I rode home on with the road smoldering from the pouring rain and when I get in the house the sky opens up again. I even put on my leathers for this occasion. I'm in my jammies now so I'll have to save the storm riding for tomorrow.

Every bike Victory makes is a premium bike and would love to own one of each, especially the V8.

I say that with true sincerity and joking aside. But I can only afford one bike, and the Vision is the best of all my worlds. Touring, or Street, this bike is sweet.

Considering the Vision street is gone. The extra trunk capacity makes up the lost space. And if you buy the V-8, side bag size shouldnt be an issue. The reason I never looked at the KP was the lack of real carrying capacity.

Allready paid for it. Ineed to take the trunk off for paint (accident damage) thought I would put the panel on so my painter could take his time. So much for that idea. I'll ride it without the trunk and left side bag. Paint will take a week or less.

No way in hell could i let the Vision go for a Cross bike.  But i would not hesitate to add a Cross Country to the stable.  I have yet to have any REAL issue with packing for a week trip on the Vision.  Thank God my wife is reasonable on what is really required for a bike trip.
