Aubrey, TX | Well..I have seen people in cages do stupid things..and I am sure they will not admit to it. Of course they r innocent..I am sure they did not follow him too close..or cut him off almost causing an accident. This story sounds a little out there..but I have been pretty ticked off at what people do. They know a bike can not compete with a car..so they just do what they are gonna do.. |

Rapid City, SD | I would never resort to anything that drastic but lately I have been known to tilt my head back and let a big luggy fly. If the car behind me is as close as I thought he was their windshield would get wet.

Ruskin, Fl | I was watching one of the truTV shows yesterday, most shocking or one of them. A tourist in Vagas had video of a guy off his bike pushing a shoving with the driver of a car. You could hear the audio the biker was pissed the car didn't signal and cut him off. Car takes off with the bike right on his tail when the car give him a brake job. You guessed it, he ran into the back of the car and fell over. Dumbass wasn't hurt, but what ever really happened makes motorcyclist look bad. |

Reno County, KS | If someone came up and punched out the window on my truck the end result would be at least one small hole in the front of his chest. As far as I'm concerned they're after me and I'm not taking a chance. I would make the same assumption for any other driver in traffic. It's all fun and games until someone gets a dose of their own medicine. I get as impatient as anyone when I'm stuck behind an idiot in traffic but there is a boundry and I think most of us on this forum know better and can control our tempers. We as a group will never understand what's going on in ragers heads when they decide to step off their bikes and start assaulting other drivers/riders. |

San Antonio, TX | Three times I have let my voice be heard when riding.
1 I was behind a high school kid on a phone with the drivers window down not paying attention to a green light. When he finally made it through the yellow light I pulled up beside him and yelled "HANG UP THE PHONE AND DRIVE!" He was a little shaken up by that.
2 I am riding along with two cars and a van in rush hour traffic on a four lane road, no problem. All of a sudden, a STUPID driver cuts across the road and pulls in front of the van in front of me. I was in the position to see him cutting in, so I start shutting it down. The van starts to shut down to avoid STUPID . The cars in the other lane do not know what STUPID is going to do so they start taking action.
The car beside the van is shutting down faster then the van. The car behind that car in the other lane decides to cut lanes and pulls between me and the van and barely misses me.
About two miles up the road I am stopped at a light right behind STUPID. He has the windows down. I get off of the bike and walked up to his back bumper while looking into his mirror and saw his eyes get wide. Now that I have his full attention, I state a fact. "THAT STUNT YOU PULLED BACK THERE ALMOST GOT ME KILLED!" He said "I'm Sorry, I didn't see ya!" I said "Really?" and got back on my bike.
3 Thursday I was riding behind a Mustang convertible when the driver decides to spit. Some of it hit my boot. All I said was "HEY!" He winced then looked in the rear view. He mouthed Sorry and we went on with our lives.
I wish the state would provide common citizens a ticket book plus the authority issue tickets. I could make them a bunch of money. As an added bonus, I would do the work for free!
I guess I could run for county Constable and become a licensed Peace Officer. Ah forget it, that would be like a real job. |

Richmond, Virginia | I guess the 30 year old Harley driver just cant get past the anger he has for the bike he purchased. Sounds like everytime he gets on the bike he wants to take out his hostilities on the rest of the world as if we were the ones who forced him to make such a poor motorcycle purchase decision. Wow 30 years old and a hot head know it all, macho man not to many of those around now.....
Someone needs to send the boy a doorag with a ponytail sewn onto the back of it so all the cagers will know in advance "he's one tough M.F er and we should leave him alone... |

| I suspect there is a lot more to the stories that wasn't told. My guess is the busted side window was the result of the dude cutting off the biker. When the biker yelled or sounded his horn the cager flipped him off (been there). I've actually chased a dude down for doing exactly the aforementioned and drug him out his side window. Everyones a "big man" a "tough guy" behind the wheel. I don't see it as road rage so much as a schooling in proper manners, particularly when the cager screwed up.
I'll bet there was a lane violation involved in the door kick and mirror incident as well. Probably moved over without looking and almost took the guy out and after decided to pull over.
If you've ridden a while you've seen these things, over and over. My advice is buy a bag of marbles for those cut offs. Drop a handful after you get past the person who commited the infraction that about killed you. They really bounce, lol.... Seriously don't do that they do bounce and will go through the windshield (don't ask).

New Bohemia, VA | I guess my intitial thought in this post was not vengence, but the absurdity of even risking yourself to correct someone in such a manner. They are just one of many who do these stupid things, and who is it to side to either aspect of the article. It could be a jerk on a bike trying to instegate trouble, or he may really trying to take matters in his own hands. He'll still be the loser, especially if he tangles with someone that will feel threatened by his actions and either hit him or shoot him.
Also, the ball-bearing revenge only opens up to killing innocent people when the driver gets startled and hits someone else.
you all do what you think you have to, but taking a licence plate and reporting might not be a bad idea either. Sure, they may never catch them, but it beats killing someone else in the process.
about a month or so a lady ran a redlight and almost t-boned me. fortunetly it is the only time I've dropped the Vision but I avoided contact. Because the bike went down, a lady behind followed the truck that ran the red light and called the police. I had stopped to get some bbq and while waiting a sheriff came in and asked if I was riding the bike and he had something for me to see. They had caught the lady, who seemed very remorseful for what she did. I guess she got a ticket for running a red light, but since she didnt' hurt me, it was done and I believed she learned a lesson greater than I had chased after her myself and looked like an ass of a biker. |

Goldsboro, NC | I gotta submit my own "stoopid biker' story. This was years ago in another city... it did not even involve an HD.
In Erie, PA, there is an industrial park just off Peninsula Drive. Peninsula Drive is a four-lane bridge over the tracks and a common entrance to the park is a REALLY skinny two-lane, with a high curb and a utility pole to boot. Trucks need to use both lanes of the bridge to make the turn and often both lanes of the access road as well.
My folks were exiting the park (UPS was there at the time) and were waiting to make a left turn to go over the bridge. A truck was trying to make the turn and they were in the way. Seeing that the truck was blocking both lanes of oncoming traffic and nothing was coming the other way, they proceeded to go around the truck, clearing the access road so he could make his turn.
Some jackass on one of those custom chopper thingies came in behind the truck and decided that he was not going to wait for the truck to make his turn. Remember, the truck was blocking both of the lanes and was using both lanes of the access road. He swung wide around the tail of the truck into oncoming traffic at about 50mph, to come face-to-face with my folks. He laid his bike down and managed not to get too terribly hurt. He decided that my folks were the problem, ran over and started yelling at them through the window and trying to punch the window out. "Yew almost KILLED me a**h***!!". My folks drove away and the guy followed them and bitched at every opportunity.
He didn't seem to be aware that he was in an oncoming traffic lane and his impatience did not trump the yellow line. He actually had my parents shaken up a bit. Until I set them right, they actually thought they had done something wrong.
The reason intimidation and terrorism continue is that they work. |

Regina Saskatchewan Canada | The motorcycle is my ZEN, when I ride it takes away all my stress and hostilities. Unfortunately there are still way too many stupid drivers out there. All I can say is anticipate the worst, the car meeting you at an intersection is going to turn left in front of you, the person in the lane beside you is going to move over and cut you off, that car sitting at a stop sign is going to pull out in front of you. Anyways you know what I mean, if expect the worst you are ready for it when it does happen and you get to keep the shiny side up! |

| Carry nuts and bolts to drop...that can be considered road trash or something come off your bike..marbles would be assault. I also used to have big fat magnets on my tank to huck...but again, it can be constured as assault...nuts and bolts...hey, fell off my bike, what can I say? |

I've heard this kind of noise for years and must say; I cant imagine an adult who is conscious of the potential unintended consequences of their actions actually pulling a bonehead maneuver like this. Children throw tantrums and objects.
Once that missile leaves your hand you have no control over who it hits, how they will react and who will get hurt. That bolt "that just fell off your bike" might sit on the road and puncture a tire and cause an accident that kills someone; quite possibly a fellow biker.
All I can say I hope that this is nothing more than macho posturing.
As Mr. Natural often said. "Use the right tool for the job" , in this case the right tool for the job is a brain, not an ego.

So Cal | I worked with a guy that rode sport bikes. I saw him almost get creamed by a large box truck. I asked him if he saw the truck? His response was, yeah, but I had the right of way. When a little sportbike goes up against an 8 ton truck, I dont care what the law says about right of way, the motorcycle is gonna lose. When I encounter stupidity from the drivers around me, I hit the trottle and get the hell out of there. When your trying to make a point with some one in a cage. Its too easy, out of stupidity or just plain hate, to get run over. Distance is safer. |

When a little sportbike goes up against an 8 ton truck, I dont care what the law says about right of way, the motorcycle is gonna lose. When I encounter stupidity from the drivers around me, I hit the trottle and get the hell out of there. When your trying to make a point with some one in a cage. Its too easy, out of stupidity or just plain hate, to get run over. Distance is safer.
