Has anyone put new grips on, can you just cut the old ones off and install the new over existing heating elements, or do you have to buy whole new grips with
heating elements?

Colorado Kid,

I'm not familiar with the grip install replacement options, but would suggest that you use the search feature on this site to find previous threads on the subject. Most likely just about any information you may need can be found by doing this.

I put Grab-on grip covers on my bike, they just slide over the old grips. Grip puppies are good too. New heated grips are expensive. The covers are foam and should last for several years.

there is no separate heater element under the grips. You have to buy new ones with heating elements if you want oem. I just replaced mine at 110k.
