Barefoot Bay, FL United States | FOUND IT !! The reason for the noise, that is!! A 3" split on the rear header pipe, just outside the cylinder head! It is so bad that it left an impression of the split on the inside of the chrome cover, which showed a 'blue' area on the outer surface, the same blueing as the pipe when it gets hot! Lots of backfiring when slowing down and when shifting. Had to go with Freedom Performance pipes. Hopefully they'll last as long as the stock pipes did, just under 76K. witchbiker Chrome does NOT like Florida!!
