I used to own a Honda Valkyrie and put car tires on the rear. Has anyone tried one on a Vision?

I ran two different cars tires on my Valk for almost 5 years and over 40K miles and loved it. Rear braking is much better as well as riding in the rain. The only down side I've found is with low speeds. If there is groove in the road, the tire wants follow it. Plus additional miles and the lower cost of the tire is a big plus.

I agree with the positive mindset on the Car Tire and used one on my Kawasaki VN2000.  I was very happy with mine and will put one on my Vision when my current rear tire is toast.

I rode a buddy's Valk with a car radial on the back for about a week.  It was fine in a straight line.  It absolutely hated twisties.  Really had to muscle it through tight turns.  Tire lasted forever though.  If you love freeways you will probably like the car tire on the back.

Personally, I just don't understand why anyone would want to put a car tire on a Vision. Part of what is great about this bike is its great handling, especially in the twisties. Why would anyone spend over $20k on this bike, then alter its performance just to save a couple bucks on tires? If you were going to do that, you should have bought a Harley.

I'm all for saving money, but this doesn't seem to be the way to do it, at least to me.

Well said....$23K for the bike........too cheap to use a proper tire.........I'll bet they use Wal-Mart oil filters and oil too!!!

I didn't put one on just to save acouple of bucks. I liked the way they looked and as I said before, superior rear braking and wet weather riding. If you want to see other opinions, got the VRCC site and see how many Valk owners have them.

REAR BRAKING? My bike has a REAR brake? WOW! Who knew????
Kinda just kidding - your front brake should be doing 75% of your braking - except in slippery conditions.
Not to mention that car tires are entirely the wrong thing to put on a road bike - ask any tire expert. For your health, please forgo looks for safety and handling.

If I remember correctly, Boss Hoss used them for years until Avon came out with 300 series.

I had a car tire on my Vulcan 2000. it lasted a very long time and saved me alot of money by not replacing tires. Then i installed a 18 inch 250 rear tire and i seen how much better it handled at low speeds. I liked the car tire in terms of long life. but after switching back to a MC tire the mc tire handled way better and was completely predictable.
