My advice is take the test ride; but be prepared to part with your money afterwards! If you have a regular passenger and make the mistake of bringing her along, then you're going to own this bike. The passenger accommodations are the best.

I test rode the Vision as a lark; and now I can't imagine owning anything else. My HD Ultra Classic and my BMW sit in the garage collecting dust and are looking for new homes. I would buy a Vision again in a heartbeat, even given the changes in the economic climate.
My wife and I are both tall and we LOVE this motorcycle. She hated riding our Harley, it beat her to death.

Minnow - 2008-10-13 3:18 PM I am happy except for one thing. I have done everything possible to stop the decel popping (S1/L2) and haven't found the cure. Last bike I had was a Road King. The Vision was a natural progression into comfort. I love to ride and the Vision provides the power and comfort I desired. I've put on over 10,000 miles this summer and had the best summer I've had in a long time.

Usually when you have any type of deceleration poppy it is due to an exhaust leak at the head gasket or at the point the slip-ons connect to the header pipe. There have been others who have had the popping and once they checked and tighten everything up the popping went away.

I have the stock pipes and will keep them as I want my bike to be quite on the long trips I do and I like to hear the stereo. If I was riding from bar to bar I would have louder pipes.

No kidding. I just stopped by the dealer in May to ask about the '09 bikes. I wasn't ready to buy at the time. After an hour test ride, which was unplanned, I rode home on a brand new Tour Premium that day. 8500 miles later I have no regrets. The onlt thing on the 2009 model I really want is the rims.

I owned an '05 Hammer for three years, did lots of customizing on it including a $600 Corbin dual touring saddle with backrest to try to make my wife happy and get her to ride with me. In three years of riding, she got on the bike maybe six times total. After one 280 mile ride on a Saturday, she informed me that if I ever wanted her to ride with me, we'd need something more suited to the comfort of the passenger. Long story short, I took her to our Victory dealer just to have her sit on the Vision. Within 5 minutes, she had decided that was the way to go. Needless to say, by the end of the week we had a new Vision in the garage. I still miss the sheer fun-factor of the Hammer, but the Vision is so much more enjoyable to ride, I put 1,900 miles on it the first 3 weeks. The cool part is, my wife was on the back for almost all of those miles. Two weekends ago, we went for a short 250 mile ride, and when we were heading home, she said she could keep riding this one all day long. If you have someone you'd like to have ride with you but won't because of comfort issues, the Vision is definitely the answer. Its a great way to spend time together, and the only complaining you'll hear is from the passengers on the other bikes you're riding with. At every stop, you'll be hearing that constant whine..."Why can't we have a comfortable bike like that?"
