This is my first post so I hope it goes well. I got a 2011 about a month ago. The old owner had the dealership change the ABS sensor since the light stayed on. A week of riding and the warning light came back on. Dealership is 2 hours away or I would take it back.
My question: Is there any harm to the bike is I don't fix what ever is causeing the warning light?

Only issue is you wont have abs brakes. Just regular brakes.

Just some random thoughts from my BMW ABS experience.

The ABS wheel rings are sometimes damaged with a tire change. If the brake fluid level is just a little low, on a BMW the ABS light will flash or come-on. Especially the rear master cylinder.

Thanks for the replies. I've made it this long with no ABS I'm sure I'll make it till the end without. LOL

I had a bad sensor on mine a few years ago, and it caused the ABS light to stay on. But, more importantly, it caused occasional braking issues, where no matter how much pressure I applied to the front and rear brake levers, it refused to transmit to the calipers! Very scary when you can't stop the bike! I would get it looked at ASAP!

I have had that happen twice over the years on semi-trucks. No matter how hard I pushed the brake pedal, I had no brakes. The manufacturer says that is impossible and that the system is supposed to revert to manual braking whenever there is a sensor problem. Reality is that the brakes did not respond at all, even though there was substantial air pressure and pedal pressure. Bad sensor = no brakes.

No ABS for me on my bikes, thank you.
