So I bring my 2014 vision into the dealer for the 500 mile service, and there is a connector that is loose and hanging down by the horn. It is oval in shape and has the rubber ridges around it so it creates a waterproof seal when connected to something. I asked the shop what this is supposed to be connected to and what it is for. The mechanic said he had no idea and just zip tied it back underneath the fairing. He said it is likely a connection for an aftermarket add on part.

Anyone here have a clue? The bike is fine and no codes or issues, everything is working normal.

That is strange but stranger still is the fact the mechanic didn't bother to check into it for you. I'd check with the service manager if nothing else. Maybe a hook up for after market running lights?

This is why many of us work on our own bikes.

Sounds like the plug for the lighted side badges, there is one on both sides.

I think you may be correct about running lights or lighted badges. The connector is a 2 pin, with a blue wire and a purple / orange wire.
