Just bought a vision premium tour a couple of weeks ago and have put a little over 500 miles on it. Love the bike except for one thing and I hope its because its not broken in yet....I find that when rolling off the throttle, especially at lower speeds, it is not a smooth transition and gets jerky and nothchy like you have to keep the rpm up higher than normal. I had the stage one done before I picked it up and it was re mapped...thinking maybe a map adjustment. Anyone notice this with theirs. Could use your feedback before I bring it in for the first service this week....thanks.

When you talk about RPM's being high, what is your definition of high? Also, are you a previous Victory owner? Need a little more information, sort of vague. Is it in a particular gear, like first or second? To answer part of your question, the throttle should never be jerky or notchy whether its got 10 miles or 100,000 miles. I ask if you have owned a Victory prior, due to the fact that the primary is a gear driven primary and not a chain or belt as is the case with Harley and a few other large v-twin manufacturers. The gear driven primary feels and responds a little harsher than a chain primary depending on your driving/shifting/throttle habits.

I have noticed a difference below 2k rpm between this great bike and my Venture. I find the Vision to be a little more abrupt when going between accel and decel. I think part of it is that the feul injection has a faster response time than the old carb type. I have learned to be gentler with the wrist to get a smoother ride.

So Cal
Make sure the recall has been done, the reflash cures most of it.

I think you probably answered your own question and dont know it. You mentioned you came off a Venture. I have rode a few Ventures, it has a V-Four engine. Very smooth RPM range and the gearing in the tranny is a little different. A V-Twin will be a bit more abrupt in that comparison alone. Just as a reminder, some people may notice a difference in throttle response with the reflash/recall. This is going to be isolated. I had mine reflashed Friday morning and turned around and road 700 miles over the weekend. My throttle response was no different, it just cured the stalling issue like is mentioned in the recall and one of the side effects is that it seems to help with decel popping with my Stage one level two exhuast. Good luck and have fun with the Vision. Ride safe.

Thanks for all your advice..came off a bmw 1200clc and currently own a softail deluxe as well. Both roll off the throttle pretty smoothly although one is belt and the other was shaft driven. Hopefully break in, reflash and recall adjustments will help smooth out the problem...otherwise I am enjoying the ride alot!

I came off a wing and I notice a definate difference on a GL when you roll off the throttle as long as your in the correct gear nothing much happens the roll on of the bike is amazing and not very helpful if you like to use the trans to slow down. I first got the vision and was running down the driveway in second at about 3000 RPM and rolled off the throttle and holy S*** I about went over the windshield. I have adjusted to a V twin now and I love it but it does take some getting used to for you come from the multi cylinder Jap world. Archie
