Howdy All,

I'm told that the Vision is pre-wired for accessory powerlet type plugs.

Can someone point me the right direction?

In the front, do I drill a hole in a specific place for the plug? Where is the wire? Any instructions available?

Same question for the rear. I read somewhere you install the powerlet socket under the right rear speaker.

My goal is to use these new plugs for our heated gear.

Thanks for your advise and expertise.

That spot should work. One of the things in the way when installing my PC5 was a switched power supply. It is readily accessible near the back of the tank area under the front of the seat. A few inches of wire would get you switched power in that console area.

Yes. If you buy the outlets from Victory, they come with a template for locating the hole. Not really needed though. The pre-wired plug is under the radio.

On my bike, I used that location for the headset jack for my helmet speakers, and put two switches for my heated gear beside it on the right. My pigtails for the heated gear come out in front of the seat.

When drilling the holes, I recommend using a stepped drill because the aluminum is thin and cuts easily--too easily for a twist bit which will try to "catch" in the aluminum.

Ronnie,

Thanks for the tip.

Wondering if I could just purchase the receptacles direct from Powerlet and save some bucks.

Yes, you can buy it from Powerlet and they even have the one with the connector that fits the factory plug under the panel.

Yes, that is the right one for the front like the picture above. I not sure about the one on the trunk as I have never seen that one, but it should be the same. I believe the wires would have to be a little longer for the trunk though. I would call them to make sure.

You can buy directly from Powerlet. As for saving some bucks, be aware that the outlets from Victory come TWO to a package and with instructions and templates for installation, at least mine did a few years ago.

The ones I got from my dealer plugged directly into the pre-existing wiring on the bike. Drill the hole, mount the outlet, plug the wire in. Done.

The outlets themselves are the Powerlet PSO-001 that Powerlet gets $20 apiece for. There were two in the package from the dealer.
