Anyone else having trouble with this? I shift past it at least 3 or 4 times everytime I put it in Neutral. At almost 3k miles, it's not getting any easier either. Sometimes I just give up and leave it in gear and shut down the bike. Reaching down with my hand, I can get it much easier. Tranny always this stiff?

After I got my Vision my father-in-law got the fever (even though he kept telling me he was to old to ride) and bought himself a Vulcan. The only thing his bike has that I wish mine had is a positive neutral finder. So yes I too play finding nemo...er neutral every time.

Actually, my Vision is probably one of the easiest bikes I have had when it comes to finding neutral.

Well, believe it or not, I had some trouble when I first got the Vision. What solved it for me was sliding my foot a little more forward, thus reducing the lever arm length created by my heel to shifter distance. Now, the same apparent motion creates a smaller arc of movement and I am able to get into neutral MUCH easier.

You guys should ride a Harley. Finding neutral after that is a piece of cake!

A little trouble getting neutral from second, but no trouble first to neutral. 3900 miles so far.

I tried placeing my foot forward. I don't wanna get into the paint with my boot tip but I choke up on boot with my shifter and its still a PITA. It's actually easier for me to find it from second than it is from first.

Actually I was getting ready to ask the same question. Have 17,500miles on mine and it seems to be a little difficult in finding neutral at times. However, I just drift back in time and remember the GL1200 where it was a ritual in finding the neutral almost everytime. And also, I found out on occassion that green neutral light only meant that it was on, when it was on because it would still be in gear.

So with that said, the Vision is indeed a piece of cake.

If you give it a quick little burst of gas ("blip" the throttle) as you shift from first to neutral, it will make it easier (years of experience with Harley).

+1, definitely works, usually have to do it on my 8-Ball when oil change time is near.

It needs an old Harley trick to get the Vision to slide into neutral.
As your bike warms up the idle drops below 1k rpm as such the gears don't like to slide. If you ease on the throttle to raise the rpm above 1k rpm it will SLIDE right into Neutral no problem. Hope this helps

You can also try letting the clutch out a little bit in first gear. Just as the bike starts to move, slide the shifter up into neutral.

Next to my Kawasaki Nomad with positive neutral finder my Vision is fairly easy to find neutral most times on the first try.

My vision is alot easier to get into (N) than any of my vulcans.. All the Pos N finder is on a vulcan is a 4 ball bearing setup. Its not very high tech. I did notice with my vulcans that Synth oil helped the trany shift alot smoother. Im not making this into a oil thread, im just sharing my experiences... Amsoil synth motorcycle oil in my vulcan 2000 made a big difference in shifting.

At a full stop in first gear I could kick my Kawasaki Nomad into neutral each and every time with out fail and without having to wiggle my toe just right. I never had to look at the neutral light to see if it was lit. With the Vision I now have to wiggle my toe and look at the neutral light but finding neutral isn't difficult at all.

I have 12k on my Vision. I find it shifts easiest into Nuetral when I use a real light touch. I was marveling yesteray, how I can shift to nuetral from second as I come to a stop. I guess my bike is an exception, because I think it shifts better than my Kingpin, way easier than my Lowrider, and my Honda sometimes wouldn't go into nuetral at all.

I have no problem finding Nuetral.
My problem is; Nuetral finds me when I least want it to. Like when there's a crowd around and I let out the clutch and nothing happens.

With ALL of my kaw's i had to tap down most of the time. as it would Skip (N) and go into second. If you do a search on a kawasaki forum for "finding neutral" you'll see people on there complaining about it as well.. actually making fun of the design. I guess it depends on the model of bike.? I know my vn800B and vn2k was touchy with finding N..
