Original thread http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=14969&st...

So today i was out on the bike, and i was cruising down the road in 4th gear and when I rolled on the throttle hard, i feel some slipping (hear engine rev and not much happen with speed) and the gear indicator bounces to 3rd, it will catch up and move me forward. if i dont roll on hard, then it works fine.

Is this indicative that i need a new clutch or bigger transmission problems.

that sounds to me like your clutch is shot... (slipping) ... how many miles do you have again ?

Have you had your shifting linkage properly adjusted by a good mech?
When I bought Anny, I had the heal shifter installed. Shifted poorly and did bad things like improper shift indication. Took it to my good mech and he adjusted and she has been fine for 63,000+ miles.

Red Ryder, on a '13 Vision there is no shift linkage adjustment. It is a hydraulic clutch.

Oldman... now you're having a senior moment I think :-)

There most certainly is shift lever linkage on a 106 motor. Lower left of pic (adjustable linkage rod hidden by floorboard):

Sorry, I was thinking clutch adjustment. Shift linkage is very familiar to me since I replaced mine with a fancy one.

Go to dealer and have them look at it. They will ask what oil your using. No clutch is not under warranty but you need one
