Akron, Ohio | It was a year ago today that I almost took my last ride. I still miss my Vision and riding, but know I no longer can.
All the doctors said give it a year, what comes back comes and what doesn't, doesn't. Well I can tell you that I am still in pain every day. I still have trouble getting out of bed in the morning. By the end of the day, I have trouble walking and is pain.
At least I can go to work every day and can cut my own grass (riding mower). There are days it is a battle for sure. My left foot still does not work right. I have no control over it to raise my toes. My upper thigh hurts bad enough I can not walk as soon as I get up, have to give it a few to support me.
That is why I will never ride again. I can't put my foot down in any kind of a normal time frame. I actuall looked at the 3 wheel Vision, my local dealer has 1. He let me sit on it. Felt weird. It is the same color and year as the one I had. Almost gave me an erie feeling!!
Anyhow, I was just sitting here feeling about half sorry for myself and thought I would try talking with some old friends, and maybe so new ones too.
For those that don't remember the thread here it is.

| My friend was in all most the same Sharp as you. Thirty doctors and a good hundred different pills and then a stroke.
When talking to doctor he told him how his feet hurt and at times could walk. Doctor found he had blockage in his vains in the groin area. Under the knife new vanes going to each leg and now he walks all most like normal and he can sleep at night. Down to three pills a day
Maybe you could ask your doctor about your vaines. |

Maybe you could ask your doctor about your vaines.
They have done an ultasound on both legs, vains are good. Problem is the nerve and muscle damage. |

Jasper, MO | Sorry to hear things aren't getting better.
I've been looking at trikes recently. I know the day is coming. I test rode (drove?) one of the Stallion trikes a while back. Interesting. Not a motorcycle trike, and not a sports car either. Sort of a blend of the two. I talked to a few owners and they love them. One of the guys I talked to has to walk with a cane. | hey handyhiker.....I joined this forum after your accident. so sorry to hear. I realize this could happen to any of us. I've had a couple bump ups myself. just wondering if you care to offer any advise, or if there was any way this could have been avoided? anything you would do different? |

Central Illinois | New here, but I wish all riders a speedy recovery. Some day I may need to step down to a trike, but there is no way I will submit to a cage only. I am a young 65 as of today and thoroughly enjoy my ride. When/if I must downgrade to a trike, it will probably be one of those Bombardier reverse trikes. The ones with 2 wheels up front. |

They're popular.

Pitt Meadows, BC Canada | Going up a hill in traffic last Monday, had to stop suddenly and unexpectedly - lost balance a down she went.
So I'm trying to slow/stop the descent, and Co-Pilot is on top of me as well - hell of a losing battle. Landed on my elbow and fought so hard, my right shoulder is torn up inside.
A good Samaritan who was stopped in the opposite lane - jumped out of his car and ran over to help - arriving just as I got to my feet. We stood the bike back up and put it on the side stand. I thanked him heartily, we got back on and drove off - all in the duration of one red-light cycle.
I finished the ride home maybe 25 minutes later - the most PAINFUL ride in my life. My elbow had to be iced down - was the size of a baseball. I am writing this 24 hours later - and my whole body hurts. BUT - no damage to the bike, NO loss of blood, and I don't think any broken bones - just muscle damage to my 70 year old body !!!
Don't wanna do that again ... or switch to a trike. If I gotta go more than 2 wheels - it'll be a 500+ HP Two Seater Something ...

To the guy that dropped the Vision that looks like an ice hockey goalie injury. I've had many. Ice ice ice. BTW those don't look like 70 year old arms |

Both in my drink, and my arm! And my 22" arms ain't what they used to be .... (still ... more muscle than the other stuff ... ) |

| sorry to hear about fall...hope all heals well and fast. we need to stop trying to catch bike and let it fall.. I think most damage is done straining to hold it up. the vision will be ok. |
