Would you pay extra for better fit an finish on a new Victory touring bike (XC/XCT/Vision)? If so, how much more would you pay for HD/Honda type quality of fit/finish?

It's not that the current fit and finish is unacceptable, it is that it would cost more if they got into more a detail. I think part of the problem for the Vision is the material and design of the bike creates too many variables and tolerances. We think things are simple and expect the first cut to be perfect. I see more imperfection in all sorts of things, but the function is what I'm looking for. I believe Victory exceeds in that department. It's not likely a car could hit the back of the Gold Wing or Harley and not suffer major damage. I've got pushed by a car and you would be hard pressed to find the minor damage it caused. it was pushed about 3 feet riding two up sitting at a stop light.

to me the Vision is a very nice bike right out of the box. Would it be nice to have a little better fit and finish, of course. It's already an expensive bike and I couldn't see paying more for something Ma-Vic could improve by simple changes at the factory. From what I understand, the fit and finish of the VV was somewhat better back in 09. Why not implement some changes at the factory to get back to that kind of quality?

While it would be nice, it wasn't the deciding factor when I purchased my bike as much as the price was.

Let me ask you this.
Our bike has all plastic body parts so how would you make them better. Plastic does not fit together like steel. Couldn't make them out of steel bike wouldn't have enough power to move the 1000 pounds.
Paint what can you say you drive gravel road follow gravels trucks and yes you get rock chips.
Yes the Vision could use more shin

The fit/finish wasn't a deciding factor for me, either, but it sort of bugs me. I'd buy another even with worse fit/finish but for the cost, it should be better. If Honda/Harley/Kawasaki/etc can do it (and sometimes on cheaper bikes), I don't see why Victory can't. Victory obviously has brilliant engineers.

Johnny --- I've owned 4 Pontiac Fieros and the body panels are plastic (actually SMC but close enough). The panels fit well together and the paint (for '80s material) was pretty damn good. I'm not a body man but I don't see what the base material has to do with it.
