Thinking about purchasing a Dobeck EJK fuel controller for my 2011 Vision (since I can get a good military discount); and am planning to purchase and install the Lloyds Vision upper air filter.

Are the stock pipes free flowing enough to leave be for now; once I get the EFI controller and upper air filter installed; or should I also contemplate drilling out each rear pipe's exhaust housing endcap with several 1/2" holes to provide a little more flow?

I also want to remove the two O2 sensors from the pipes and disconnect them from the wiring harness; and install exhaust bungs in place of the O2 sensors. It will allow for a cleaner appearance with the head pipes. From what I have learned, it'll just make the computer adopt a leaner condition, but I will offset that with the Fuel Controller.

I do plan on eventually installing better, freeflowing aftermarket pipes... but would like to leave the OEM stockers on for the moment.

Thoughts? Comments are welcome.

NO I wouldn't do it.
I didn't see any thing for motorcycles or for a Vic.
You would not have any maps to go by and if you asked for help I bet they wouldn't know.
Sale your money and buy one designed for a victory.
With air filter and pipes you don't need a fueler. Do the filter and pipes and just unhook your 02's you'll be just fine

The stock pipes flow plenty good enough and will produce 135 HP on a 116 inch big bore motor. They are not restrictive. You can drill them out, or have them recored for more noise if you want to.

Spend the $600 or $700 you would waste on an aftermarket exhaust on a set of Lloydz VM1 cams, the filter you are planning on, and Lloydz VFCIII. Do away with the O2 sensors. Leave the stock exhaust. You'll be looking at around 110HP/110TQ.

Go to Lloydz blogs and read his article on exhausts before you go spending any money on aftermarket pipes.

Thanks rdbudd... I'll check out his article. And thanks for the other info as well.

JohhnyVision.. Dobeck does manufacture a EFI unit for the Vision... see the link below (with the military discount, I can get it for $175.00 shipped):

The Lloydz VFCIII is made by Dobeck, but with Lloyd Greer's proprietary, dyno developed, specifications for the Victory. Whether that is worth the additional cost of the VFCIII over the Dobeck is up to you to decide. I suggest you talk to a couple of top wrenches who have no vested interest in which tuner you choose. Contact member KevinX (Polaris of Gainesville, FL), and/or member Vicbuilder (The Vic Shop).

another option for your exhausts is the 'thrush' mod. search this site for 'thrush mod' lots of info. i did the thrush mod and am very happy with the results. a little louder than SL1 but not as loud as SL2. cost about $200 in parts and 4 hours of labor.

Yes, I had already done the Thrush Mod and have posted pic's of it on this site. I have since returned to the Stock Exhaust.

2011 Vision; Have the upper air filter and converted the pipes with 26 inch long atom bomb glass packs, $22 each. Cut the ends of the existing pipes off, cut down the length of the pipe and pull the guts out. Insert the glass packs, re-weld the seam and the ends, slip on and your done. I also have the gatlin tips you just need to cut off the end of the glass pack tail. Sound is a nice low rumble. Provides more power, big improvement in excelleration. Still have the O2 senor hooked up. A riding buddy did the same mod and installed a $800 fuel controller a couple of months later, after his first ride the comment was "what a waste of $800" about says it all on if you are going to add a fuel controller when you change out the pipes.
