If I ever get an Indian, any Indian, I will not even come close to riding like I ride my Vision. It is for the slow and leisurely ride it was majestically designed for. While Indian gain famed through racing, I've always pictured it be a part of the slow and easy way of life. Even a Kiwi Indian would suite me just fine..

Agree with varyder: The old Indians regardless of model ( Scout, PowerPlus or the various chiefs and the 4 cylinder models ) from the Springfield plant were all created before there was an Interstate highway system. Most of the US Highways were two lanes and one third of the other roads in the country were dirt or gravel. None of these were made for the now cruising speeds of our modern Interstate highway sysytem..........Hell would you even want to go 70mph down a dirt road on a semi-rigid frame that had maybe 1 1/2 inches of travel at the rear tire?? AND the Harley's weren't any better at this even though they did have a swing arm frame from 1958 onward, before that they were rigids.........

A new Indian can't be ridden like a Vision, at least not by me. They ride well, just not like a Vision.
For a machine costing over $25K I'd treat it lovingly. Not that it would require it, but because it deserves that amount of care and respect.
Just my 2 cents.

AND there lies the problem in my view: I want a new BAD ASS Chief that can be ridden like a Vision and with all the comforts the Vision supplies too, with that it would be worth a premium price of say $25,000 ............

We'll have to wait and see how the Polaris Indian is made. May you get your wish!
