Hello All

Wife is looking at getting a ViVi tour. Obsviously it has been awhile since I got mine, so I am wondering if anyone is up to date on the current options for having a gps on the 2011-12 models? For mine, I went with the garmin 2820. that actually is still working great/ But as this unit is now discontinued I am wondering what the latest/greatest units are that supports and works with the vision. Also, what everyone has done using after market stuff and how has that worked for you?

Thanks

Gerry - here is the latest discussion on GPS -

http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=11628&po...

I bought mine on Friday and have been playing with it all weekend with nothing negative so far. And lots of positives. Best being the price for something that does as much as it does. Have a look ...

Yup very much enjoying mine. Over 1300 miles so far with it suctioned on above the radio. Some of the older visions have a brushed aluminum plate there, that doesn't work as well, may need some tape or one of those disks. The painted ones however work great. The Garmin has tons of features. I'm trying to learn how to do waypoints now!

I taped a disk on my aluminum. Can't get the mount off with a hammer - but the Co-Pilot 'pulled' it off today out of the ball mount thinking to stash it away at a lunch stop. It is a LOT easier to just un-clip it from the mount and toss it in the trunk. But at least now I have trust in the suction-mount and am not worried in the least about it 'falling off'. And I bought a 'Solar Cell Charger' so I don't need to worry about connecting it to the bike's battery.

Still working on the logistics. Solar charger will charge ANY device like cellphone, GPS, - anything that has USB charging. It is about the same size as the GPS or a cell phone - can be mounted by suction cup(s) anywhere where the sun can hit it. Neat toy - has built in battery so it will charge another device even if the sun ain't shining - and can be charged by plugging in to any laptop. AND it has a built in flashlight!
Am thinking it could be mounted where the GPS is - getting sunlight - and charging the GPS in the glove box ! Any other ideas ...????

I am thinking semi-perminent mount on the trunk lid - and use to charge anything inside ...

We also always travel with a PC - and can use that to re-charge any of our devices - which are:
- SENA Intercom system
- Smart Phones (2)
- GPS
- Cameras Sony CyberCams (2)
- GoPro Camera

DAMN! Ain't the Info Age WONDERFUL !!! Gadgets take more energy (mental & physical) to run than the bike does !

The Victory GPS mount is designed for the Zumo 660 with audio integration. Upgrading to a Zumo 665 can be done, but it will set you back more than the auto versions. Here is a thread on the 665 and how to make it work with the Victory mount and cables. http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=8727&sta...
