I'm riding out to Fort Knox on a work trip YES!.  I'm taking the low road through Cumberland gap and up 25E, I75 and then on up US150.  Just throwing this out if anyone wants to meet along the way. I'll be at Knox the nights of 22, and 23 and leaving out on the 24th for the 600 mile return trip.  I'll be the midnight rider.  It's been a while but I need the long ride....

i remember doing that a few years ago! there was a sign that said NO stopping and no photos. so what did we do? do Stopped and took photos and with in 60 seconds the U.S. Mint police were all around us !! they wanted us to erase the photos and follow them to a parking lot. luckly they were cool and we talked bikes.. but it was scary!!! LOL

My son was one of the last classes to graduate from basic at Fort Knox. I took him and a buddy who did not have any family show up at the graduation out to lunch. My son says: Dad don't even look at the building as we go past, they both were very nervous until we got on the highway. The DI had put the fear in them.

I need to mount my flags, as I keep our military in mind all the time. My son is serving and is returning from Germany after being deployed to Afghanistan. He'll be going to Fort Bliss. My job keeps me around the military working with the Army Reserve logistics. Riding keeps my knees in the breeze, reminiscent of my Airborne days. As Gen Gavin once said "Show me a man who will jump out of an airplane, and I'll show you a man who'll fight." T'anks to all who serves...

Flags are mounted, bags are packed and I'll see Knox before the sun goes down. 600 miles of freedom...
