Went and fired up the Vision this morning and it was/is making a new noise...At first I thought it was valve train noise, like low oil and the innereds were rubbing (friction)

I checked the oil level and it was full, plus I just changed the oil less than 500 miles ago...Then I thought it might be the clutch assembly. I rev'd the motor and the noise dissipated at 2200 or 2300 RPM (went completely away). I decided to ride it to work anyway and as I traveled the noise was motor dependent, not engaged or disengaged clutch...I then thought maybe it was a whistle from the Lloydz air filter under the radio, so I ducted down and put my helmet as close as I could to the radio console going down the interstate, that wasn't it.

When I got to work I put my head down around the motor and it is coming from the right hand side of the motor, it ALMOST sounds like it is an air leak in the IAV from Lloydz (leaking hose maybe) but it also sounds like it might be coming from the top of the motor also...

The noise sounds sort of like a broken whistle as it is not a steady tea pot type whistle but a raspy or COPD type whistle...

Has anyone heard of this type of weird noise?  Have the hoses for the IAV had a problem? Mines been on for about a year now, so it's not a new install type issue...

Any help would be appreicated as I have a BIG trip next Tuesday and I need my Vision to be 100% not have some funky weird noise that will haunt me the whole trip!!!

I had lifter noise at startup since september of last year that progressively got worse. I also had another unidentifable noise coming from the front cylinder right side. Took it up to Lloyd the last week in Feb. and he started it up and said the first noise was definately a lifter. When that quieted down he confirmed another noise. Well around the third week in March Lloyd emailed me and said he replaced the lifter but it still had the other noise and asked for permission to pull the front cylinder. About 2 weeks after emailing him he said he had two Visions up on the racks torn apart and as soon as he gets one done mine will go up. I have emailed him once a week since then and have still not gotten a reply. To be fair I did tell him when I dropped the bike off to take his time but it was 34 degrees that day and they had snow on the ground in Pinebush NY.
I am going to try and call him today and see if I can get any info. Going through withdrawal its been so long since I've been on my baby.

Thanks for th einfo... I'm going by the delaership today or in the morning for them to look at it...The noise ONLY occurs when no load is applied to the motor, If I'm accelerating the noise goes away, just as soon as I release the throttle the noise comes back around 2500 RPMs...It is defientley the right side of the motor and it "seems" to be coming from the IAV area, but there is a LOT of noise in te general area so I'm not sure...

I hope it's just a vacuum leak and can be fixed real easily!!

Sounds like you may have a torn throttle body adaptor

OK, luckily it wasn't as bad as it could haves been!!! Dealer took it back in the back looked it over, and they found that the screw for the Lloydz IAV had backed out and was causing the weird noise...So they tighten back down and adjusted it to the right RPM range and alls good...

Thanks for the help all

Hey Dave ask Lloydz how he could go to Dayton and leave you hanging. Pretty shitty of Lloydz to go out of town with bikes that need fixing

John, I didn't really have an appointment and we had an understanding that when I could take a day off of work and drop it off. I knew Lloyd was going to Daytona and I did tell him to take his time so shame on me but at the time it was cold and I didn't care. Now I hope he gets it done soon. I guess thats the price you pay for getting the master to work on your bike.
