Took Anny to Higgin's today for her 40K checkup. Jay fixed her up like a showroom model.
Got a good deal on Metzler tires and giving them a try. I can feel the hardness but they acted fine all the way home (93 miles).
I got great service like always.

The new building is coming along nicely. If this warm weather holds maybe a spring open house? Place is HUGH.

Off subject. I found a really nice heavy dutch oven in the woodstove showroom. Need to break it in and make chili for the winter.

I've usually made two pots of chili by this time, so far none. While it goes down positively delicious, it gives me a yanking case of the heartburn. I can't figure out what to change to make it medigate that. Maybe I'll get out the drier and make some jerky.

I recall my 45,000 mile check up. That's when I replaced the belt. Spent about a week doing everything to include replacing both front and rear tire.

Jeff,

What Metzlers did you end up putting on?

Tires from invoice: ME880 130/70R18 and ME880R 180/60HR16 Jay said these are the new stock tires for the Goldwing.

I had an old, old dutch oven for years. I bought it in a yard sale for $5 with cover in Watch Hill, RI. (real rich neighborhood) It served me for over 30 years after being used for how long? The Lodge brand always seemed thin and light to me. I have no idea who makes this one because they had no box and it was the last one. Used virgin olive oil and baked in the oven for an hour at 350 so we will see. I use 1 lb dry red kidney beans, 1 lb hamburger, 1 lb steak cut into 1" cubes (I like something to chew on) plus a jar of hot salsa and other seasonings. Great to make burritos with.
No heartburn from mine but we shall see. My grandmother taught me her secret of taking the farts out of the beans. :P I have always wondered how many stampedes were caused my farts in the old west.... That wasn't thunder boy. O.o
