Working for a midwest CAT dealer on the engine side, I know time-to-time there are defects found in a batch of parts & they have us pull those from inventory, thus creating a void where the updated haven't shipped & the old are no longer on the shelf. But 3 months seems like an extremely long time even if the above scenario happened. A local rider has been waiting for 3 weeks now on a back-ordered engine component from Vic. Another buddy waited 2 weeks for H-D to ship engine parts for his '09 Ultra....seems like an industry issue, not just with Vic. SYNSTR's approach may work, as the squeaky wheel often gets the grease & there is also something to be said for customer service as well.

After we had our 2011 VV for six weeks, I was riding and the low oil pressure light came on. I called the dealer and they came and picked it up and took it back to the shop. 15 days later I had it back. They said it was a crushed O ring in the engine. No engine damage but they did have to tear the engine down. Had many heated calls to Polaris customer service. Call the customer service number and ask for Monte. We had our warranty extended to 5 years, got saddlebag lines, and got a trunk liner. Still doesn't replace the 15 days of almost perfect riding weather.

Having worked for Ford Motor Company I know that parts shortages do exist.
How would you like to send home 4,000 assembly plant employees because you don't have a fifty cent "widget" in stock?
