Looks like it covers the oil filter. This would make the oil change a little harder, and messier. I think I'll stick with the ness version.

I like the police version but they don't list the skid plate.

Not seeing what you're seeing... it looks like it extends a lot further forward than the Ness version, but certainly no more rearward... leaving the oil filter completely accessible.

My bad...... with a second look at the pics I realize I was seeing the bike as facing the opposite direction. Having said this I would agree that the police bike plate does offer additional protection for the rectifier.

You would have to call a dealer for price.

I like how it protects the rectifier as well.
Too late for me though, my Ness bashplate has too many scrapes to resell it now.

Whoever finds out the price, post it please.

And the big question... How are yours different from the Ness? or are they the same?

Ours will look the same... basically. My vision is one of the lowest out there. Tucson is not a smooth road city.LOL
I can say from many testings the plate does its job with not one downfall.

HMD, I have a question regarding the raked trees you sell. Can you install them without the 2" extensions in order to lower the front of the bike? Or will it change the trail too much?

So, it sounds like there is no need for me to wait until yours are available? How do I get that free shipping on the Ness model - I tried ordering on-line, and it shows like $30 for shipping. Also, do you offer a discount code for either vision-rider or VMC members?

You can cut down the inserts on the rake kit.. this will lower the front down around 1.5 , when installing the 21" wheel. On a 21" wheel this will not effect the ride enough to really matter.

On my bike we modified the upper tree, to look like a conventional tree. The holes go all the way through. this allowed me to lower the bike even further. Of Course.... with even plus there is a minus.. you loose alot of your trail. but my bike has always had minimal trail. I now have a 23" wheel on the front of my Vision...we have had to do a little custom work to get it to handle correctly. But we are there now. rides great. Let me know if i can help.

Just place the order , then give me a call. I will manually remove the freight. I only have 2 plates left from Ness that offer free shipping.

The skid plate makes the bike very stable on the jack.

I bought this plate for HMD520 months ago, it makes lifting the bike easier safer and more stable. I work nights and when coming home at 3am I hit a small animal that I could see maybe an armadillo because it was a hard blow to the bottom of the bike anyway when I got home and inspected the engine/skid plate there was blood on the plate with no damage to the bike. That plate is heavy duty!
