I have the dent in the bag on the right side and in the chrome heat shield under rear tipover bracket. Alignment on left side is way off! If you look at the key lock you can see how they have tried to correct the alignment. they are not centered in the opening. I just came back from a local ride and made the mistake of stopping for a break and sure enough the "other bike riders" were all over my bike like killer bees!!!!!!!! LOL No more stopping ! Just keep riding!!!

Update! Update! Called my dealer today about the dent they originally said was a warranty item, now, they said "go pound sand" thats the way it is. Travisty, I'll keep on ridin, won't change my life, but I will lead the parade to Victory's front door if there are enough dent guys here to scream, and yell.

Tennchikin, I guess this would be a minor issue?" Take some pics since your are covered in snow and let us see the first Vision with a major concussion.

For any of you with the dent (earlier delivered bikes). My dealer has submitted under warranty and been approved for a new saddlebag. I don't know when it will be here. Anyone else here had one replaced and on the bike?

It was approved and then they reversed their decision? Or was it really never approved?

I sure hope something happens this spring. I don't think Victory wants a large group of upset Visions owners showing up at the 10th Anniversery. We'll basically be at the front door.

It was my understanding it was approved. My wrench talked to them about it, they said OK and include pics, which he did. Must have talked to a secretary= ???

I think there was apost somewhere on this site about a dealer doing a swap to keep his customer happy. To be honest, if I were'nt the one that washes and polishes it, I would have never saw them. In fact, they get harder and harder to find. Its the only real complaint I have. Still doesnt make it right, but for a first year run its not a bad start.

My Vision is #5VPSD36D083003209 and arrived at the dealership around Nov 15th. I took delivery Dec 3rd. It has 2 small dents on the right bag and none on the left. It also has a dent in the chrome heat shield. Spoke to my dealer (R&J Performance) and they said to take a picture of it and they would submit it to Victory. Spoke to another dealer (Podiens Power Equipment) and he told me Victory is aware of the problem and reworked bikes/parts at the plant. Sounds like the issue is big enough that they will have to do something about the ones in the feild.

As I said in my previous post..evidently the problem still exists and it varies from bike to bike. Direct from the warranty dept is that they do not have replacements and they have not decided whether or not they will warranty it. He did say that whatever decision is made , it will be for ALL bikes , not just a case by case.

My personal opinion is that I would not take delivery of a car like this without expecting repair. ON a 23,000.00 motorcycle I expect no less. I took my bike with full confidence that Victory would warranty this , I really hope that they prove me right.

If you have a touring model, check your touring pack. I found a dent in mine. That was upsetting since it cost $1000.

Im thinking Victory wants to make it right. They're probably trying to figure out a repair that would be the most cost effective for them considering so many bikes involved.

My bike was delivered in Dec. I have all of these defects! I guess it shows up more on the black. Is there anyone that doesn't have them? If you don't when did you take delivery?

My SGPT Vision was delievered to the dealer on 11/23/07. S/N is 3994 and from what I can gather from looking at the bike and dates stamped on various parts, and paper work the bike was assembled 11/19/07. Mine has no creases or dents in the body panels. It does have the small dent in the exhaust heat shield.

I couldn't agree with you more. My 26K bike is sitting next to my wifes car that only cost 25K. There is no way I would buy a new car with a dent and not expect them to make it right. What pisses me off is the fact that they let them out of the factory that way. They had to see the problem in the paint room because I know they have better lighting than my garage. Everyone that has stopped by to see my bike has noticed the dents and point them out to me. Not a great feeling as I'm bragging up the Victory brand. My Vision is my 5th Victory and I took delivery fully expecting Victory to stand behind it. Next year will be my 6th (assuming Victory makes this right) as my wifes Kingpin will have 40,000 miles on it. Past experience tells me Victory will step up and do the right thing.

Big Vic, After the 99 Tranny thing, the 04 Kingpin shift ratchet thing, and the delivery of the pre-ordered "Premium" Visions without the chrome forks, I'm not so sure they will make good, but I certainly hope your optimism will be justified; it would sure go a long way towards enhancing/repairing their customer service image. I sure agree that a bike which costs as much as a small new car ought to be delivered in good condition. I believe that someone here posted that Vic wanted a picture of the dents. I found that to be a little insulting because, first, as was pointed out they had to have seen them at the factory and have been made well aware of them by now if they by some stretch of the imagination were not and secondly, why would someone claim they had them who did not; just to waste the time and take the trouble of replacing them?

As far as the 04 Kingpin shift ratchet, Victory replaced that on a recall. I'm not sure about the 99 transmissions. As far as the forks go, so what.........The dealers know about the crease in the bags, they have seen them. So if the dealer sees them then Victory knows about it. The pictures, that maybe something the dealer wants, just to make the case he has an issue. If enough pressure is applied to the dealers, then Victory will proably do something.

I just want to clarify...Banging head repeatedly againts desk~! I know the fricken brake and shift linkage adjust you baboons. I'm talking about the shifter foot pad and foot break pad. You know, the rubber coated L shaped thing that you apply your feet to. The piece that turns you boots black....it could be longer. Dang pollo, how do you work with these people? I knew this would happen once they started busing them in from the city. I couldn't get past the 36D's to answer you way back when...36D? What was explaining again?

If I remember correctly, the recall was for a faulty weld on the shifter foot lever/foot peg., not the ratchet which engages the shift star inside the primary case, which failed on a number of 04 KP's, including mine. I had to replace it at my own expense. As for the forks, you're right, no big deal, except when someone says one thing and does another it tells you something about them.

Hey Buckeye. I know what you mean about the short pegs. Victory sells (Most dealer's stock 'em.) Shift and brake foot pegs made by Kuryakyn in two lengths, the longer one being a substatial amount longer than the stock. The stock foot pegs look the same as on the earlier models and I'm reasonably sure the Kury pegs should fit,. but you could check with a dealer. They're about 20 bucks apiece. The factory pegs are a bear to get off; use a vice grip.

Buckeye; I got the bike two days before Christmas. It's on a lift in the garage untill the weather breaks. Gonna' be in the teens and 20's here for the forseeable future, and I'm just too damned old to brave that kind of cold anymore. Got frostbite on both shins from riding in the cold in about 1962.
