Sounds like your $h*t sliding crash was just the enema you needed to get "things" moving. Kind of a $h*t or get off the pot style of making a decision to get the new bike of your choice. You won't be disappointed. Congratulations and safe, stench free riding from here on!

Gawd, I love the humor in all of this. It started the second everyone (including myself) realized that I was OK and hasn't stopped yet.

The enema that got things moving!

Not how I like to make my decisions but.....whatever......I'm picking it up Tuesday!

G-Force in Lakewood. So far, they've been great. I'm going to have a really hard time making it through my conference before I hit the road and bring it back to San Antonio.

Three days to get to Laredo, then just blast down the I10 to home. It's the only part of the ride I wish was not included. I hate that stretch. At least it has a decent speed limit.

Ooops, I meant El PASO, not Laredo.

I bought my Vision from G-Force and had it shipped to Milwaukee. Very good people to work with, I would buy from them again. Do you have a meeting in El Paso? If not I would head out for Amarillo, Lubbock, Abilene and home. I hate that part of I-10 also. The El Paso route is 1269 miles and the Texas route is 968 miles. Have a safe trip...

$hitty way to get your wife to agree to getting a Vision. O.o
Just cause they hang a sign on a truck doesn't mean do-do, they are responsible for their loads.

Yeah, so far I've been very happy with their service. Of course, I havent been there yet............ It's good to hear
it from another rider.

I haven't decided for sure which route I'm going to take once I get to the Taos area. The weather forecast in the Colorado mountains isn't looking as good as I had hoped for and if I have to ride in the rain, I might bypass some of the little twisty roads I really want to ride.
Rain will have the odd effect of actually causing me to make better time, screwing up my plan of using all 4.5 days I've budgeted to mosey my way back to San Antonio.

Had a fantastic ride. Headed west out of Denver on 70 then: Leadville - Aspen - and spend the 1st night in Carbondale. (I did a lot of side road riding that day. don't know all the roads)
Day 2: Carbondale to Hotchkiss - took Hwy 52 across the dam, then headed to Montrose. Took the Million Dollar Hwy throught Silverton and Durango and stopped in Pagosa Springs.
Day 3: Pagosa Springs - Chama (very cool railroad museum)- Antonito - Taos (bought my sheepskin seatcover)- Eagle Nest - Cimarron - and took I85 into Las Vegas, NM for the night.
Day 4: from Las Vegas took Hwy 84 to Hwy 54 to Hwy 380 in to Ruidoso, then took 244 in to Cloudcroft. From there it was on to Carlsbad using Hwy 82 and Hwy 285 and spent the night there.
Day 5: Headed home. Took Hwy 285 to the I10, hit cruise control and that was that.

I took a lot of little side trips, stopped at anything I found remotely interesting, and basically took my own sweet time. When I was done, I wanted to turn around in the driveway and do it again in the other direction!

I tried to upload a few pics, but I can't for some reason or another.

cchristo,

Ruidoso, then took 244 in to Cloudcroft.... I have only done that in December about 15 years ago. Beautiful area. Love Cloudcroft. That must be nice on the Vision.

Ride Safe

I just thought of something else that's a benefit to crashing in a pile of poo. You could crap your pants and nobody would know... I fairly sure you could piss your pants too...

Seriously, that's just.... Man, I fell bad for you.

Honestly, after riding it a bit, she doesn't really like it. Very disappointing for me as the biggest reason I got it was to get her riding with me more often. That darn lip on the back of the passenger seat is really stupid. The design is totally function AFTER form. She says the old Kingpin was much more comfortable.

I have the seat off now and I'm going to be doing some major surgery on it.

Sweet pics! I have a solution for ya. I'll trade you my passenger backrest and luggage rack. It's a great deal for you since Vic doesn't make them anymore they're worth something like a gazillion dollars.... No, really.

Okay, more like $500
