Anybody else have some input? I'm looking at upgrading soon.
Have you seen my Alpine amp install thread? I used the Infinity 5032 speakers with it, sounds good!

Cook06vegas,
How long did it take, and what did you have to remove from the vision?

It took about three hours. I soldered and heat shrunk everything. I had to take the speakers out, the speaker boxes, the left blinker, the dash and the stuff that's in the way to get that stuff off...

I thought the Infinity 5032's were 2 ohm speakers. Any issues for those that are running them with the Alpine 445 ?

The J&M direct replacement say 2 ohm on the website too. $84 with free shipping on eBay. The Kickers are 200 bucks. I may have to give the J&M a try. 140 watt max so they won't blow up when I add an amp.

I've looked at the J&M and I think they look like cheap crap. Trust me, go with one of the other brands listed above. Changing these speakers isn't the funnest thing to do. I sure wouldn't want to do it twice. Just my H.O.

When this poll came out I replaced my stock speakers with the JM's. this was a slight upgrade. I replaced the JM's with the kickers...no amp. Sound is way better....no distortions! Don't waste your time on the JM. The kicker's are the way to go if you just want to replace your speakers without doing any modification.

I believe so. I used some polks and there was more room in the trunk than the front. Problem is, there's no enclosure so to make them sound really good something should be fabed. I just used some of those foam baffles. They don't have enough volume for the speakers but they're better than nothing and they keep the rear of the speakers dry..

I originally replaced my stock speakers with Polk then went to Pioneer. Sound was much better. Kickers may be better than Pioneer but I don't get any distortion until 17-18 range and that works for me.

Does anyone know if the Kicker PS5250 speakers will bolt right into the front and rear of a 2011 Vision?

They shoud. I believe you need PS52504. That's the 4 ohm version for our bikes. I have been reading a lot of posts and searching manufacturer websites and I am going with Kickers. I was going to do the Alpine amp but the guy at bestbuy may have dissuaded me. There may be a Rockford PBR300x4 in my future.

Hmmmm, well I'm not sure about the 4 ohm speakers, I thought the VV was a 2 ohm system. Does anyone know for sure?

Michael,
Yeah I know the kickers are 4 ohm, but the ones from J&M are "Rated at 2 ohms impedance (2.6 ohms actual) and 140 watts max power" I know John Lazz at J&M (the owner of J&M) and he builds his speakers to be an exact match to the bike system the speakers will be used for. Now, having said that, I'm not trying to be argumenative or to push the J&M speakers, as I intend to use either the Kickers (2 or 4 ohm) or the Polk Audio db521 which are 4 ohm. My research for the last couple of hours has shown that the actual ohm value of the VV radio is 2.6 so you really could use either a 2 or 4 ohm set of speakers without doing any damage to anything. As a rule, it is always better to go down in ohms rather than go up. For instance, prior to 2006 the Harley's used a 8 ohm system, and you could use 4 ohm aftermarket speakers on them, without any problem, but if you used an 8 ohm speaker on a 4 ohm aftermarket radio, you are gonna have issues. Wow, all this techie talk has given me a headache, it must be beer thirty somewhere. Thanks, Mark

Lol, I was just going to post that info from the J&B website. After everthing I have read I am going to go with the Kicker 4 ohm. Victory sells Kickers as an option/upgrade. I have to believe the are 4 ohm also. Once I add an amp it will be a moot point cause the amp is 4 ohm.

Thanks for all the info guys! I just scored a set of new Infinity 5032cf speakers for $59 shipped!

Now, I'm looking for a great deal on a Apline KPT 445 amp...

I like Infinity speakers, but I don't think they are waterproof?

I've had the Infinity's in mine for over a year now and have yet to have one go out. I have ridden in several rains and have washed the bike several times. I did add an amp as they are 4 ohm and the '08 stereo is only 2 ohm.

I recently put the Victory Kickers in my front fairing. Easy and fast install, they fit perfectly with no mods. Some noticable improvements over stock. No amp yet. I have an 09 Vision Street Premium, so no need for rear speakers. I can listen to them all day long, cranked up to volume 10 on the interstate wearing full face helmet. I love wearing a full face helmet because you can hear the music better which eliminates all the wind noise going through the ears.

Drats. I went to order the speakers today and Crutchfield changed the price to $199, same as everyplace else.
