With the Tail Gunner, does the exhaust come out of all the holes or just the center.

The exhaust comes out all the holes but mainly the center one as I'm still on OEM pipes. I understand that S1L1 pipes have a larger hole in the end of the muffler so more exhaust comes out of the other holes. Sorry I'm late, been out riding Mid 60's here in Northeast Fl !!

Just put on the Tips and Side covers, both look great! When I installed the Tips I put a 1/4 bead of black, high temp gasket maker between the Heat Sheilds and the Tip flange. Experience with the stock tips and my TC tells me if you don't you with see a little exhaust leak at the joint. If you get any gasket maker on the Tips or Heat Sheilds it can be removed easily with Rubbing Alcohol. Question. Did anyone else have trouble with the fit up of the left side cover? (left as you sit on the bike) Mine rubs on the painted panel at the very bottom by the clutch arm. Should the side cover go above or below the painted panel? Mine dosn't seem to want to sit right either way.

The company I ordered though just overcharged me, and I still have a few parts to come in on backorder! I will refrain from telling who it is until I see if they will resolve it in a civil manner or not. I am currently awaiting the grille set, the access panel, and replacements for the covers aft of the engine (chrome) the ones I was sent were damaged in shipping as they were poorly packed. When the overcharge, and the damaged chrome issues were brought to their attention, they suddenly seemed to lose interest in communicating with me. I am getting a baaaad feeling about this....-----Metalguy

Victory keeps sending me promotional e-mails for accessories, all the chrome is listed out of stock. This has to be driving the dealers crazy too. All the lost sales.

I had been waiting since October of 2007 and last week finally had all of the chrome installed. I know that Victory is now shipping all of the pieces, I don't know if any dealers are stocking them yet. I can tell you that Arizona Victory in Tucson is sending aluminum pieces out and having them chromed, they do look nice...you can check their website for more information.

Have all the crome. One post talked that the antena is glued to the front panel. I think that is the temperature probe. comes off with heat.

ez chair - that is the antenna behind the front panel glued on. The temperature probe is behind the left side mirror. If you pull the front access panel, you can see the wires going to it.

Well, upon inspection, I did not reference my service manual since it is not here with me. I can pull mine out from behind the fairing and then trace it all the way up under the front access panel. There is a waterproof end on it, with an electrical wire feeding into it. That wire then traces back over to where the antenna is attached with a Y connector, the other side going to the front access panel where it is glued on. Now as to what it is for specifically, it is part of the antenna system, couldn't tell you which part but if I had to WAG (wild A$$ Guess) it probably has to do with either the weather band or the am part. Normally you have different antenna types for the different frequencies. Also, I would assume the rod keeps them from attaching the wire to something metal like the right fairing cover, which might attenuate (distort) the signal. Mine is about three ft long and ziptied to a location under the front access panel.

I did recieve the grille....damaged! I had to send it back, and once again I am waiting! Also have yet to see the access panel, but the rear engine pieces I sent back have been replaced, and are perfect this time. Now I just need replacement grille, and access panel, and I am done!-----Metalguy

You know I tend to understand the frustration in waiting. I waited almost 16 years to get another bike. That's a lot of frustration. Now I don't have any chrome on order, it takes a lot of convincing in the other money pocket, so I get to sit and enjoy it the way it is. However, I would like to get some custom paint done, but I either get me a wheelbarrel full of patience or get frustrated. I'm just glad you guys are able to paint and chrome these bikes out. Keep posting the pics so I can live vicariously through your bikes.

Having the Vision is 99% of it. As long as its not disabled, waiting for accessories aint that bad.

Yes, it's great just to have have the bike............but even better with bling! Took vacation today to put on Inner fairing and front Grilles. All that's left is the Access Cover and a few Arlen Ness pcs. that are not out yet.

cjnoho- Not 100% sure as I had the dealer install the Inner Fairing and Grilles. (worked into the purchase price) I can tell you that it took a good mechanic over 6 hours to install both, put in J&M speakers, replace my radio switch cube, and XM antenna. Glad I didn't do it and even happier I didn't owe for 6 hours of labor. I don't think the Grilles are hard to put on, but the fasteners are difficult to get to, especially if your hands are as big as mine.

As expected the Chrome sagga continues for me.........both chrome grilles are damaged. The left one has scratches (under the chrome) deep enough to measure with a tire guage, the right one has a dent big enough to make the chrome flake. It was obvious they were both that way from the supplier as they were well wrapped and the box was in perfect shape. The good news is that they are towards the bottom and don't stand out as bad as they could. The other bad news is they are gapped at the top and don't fit up next to the headlight as well as the stock ones did. My dealer told me that right now he can't even order replacement chrome Grilles as Victory is not accepting any more orders until the backlog is satisfied. Long story short we put the chrome Grilles on and will exchange them when the new set arrives.
I've had more issues with this "bike experience" than all of my previous Victory's combined X 10. The great bike is quickly losing ground to the bad experience.................I'm not a real happy camper right now.

I feel your pain, Big Vic. The ones that were shipped to me in factory shipping were woefully under-packed, with LOTS of room to bang around inside the boxes, and damage each other. I can't wait for this to be over. It wouldn't be so bad waiting, just the mystery of weather the parts will show up damaged, or not is what gets to me, after having to send back NEW parts on two different occasions.

To install the grill and the forward engine pieces, the sides of the bike that cover the tank are removed. Takes a bit of work! I will have to remove all that again to install the new grill, if it ever arrives undamaged. The access cover is EASY. -----Metalguy

metalguy - I've decided it's time to share my pain with someone who do something about it. Love the bike, used to love Victory, tired of being screwed and jerked around. Owners of premium bikes should expect good service and communication about issues. Sad to say but I get treated better by the greeter at Wal-Mart. My dealer is frustrated too..........get's told one thing, than another, than another, makes you wonder if anybody knows what is going on.
