I guess I'm fairly refractory to learning. Can you give a list of which of the colored wires in the original bike wiring do what function? I guess i'm having a hard time determining from the photo after connection which connector went to which wire.

Thanks! I'm in driving distance to spursmvp, so if I don't suddenly get smarter I'll try to get in contact with him.

at the very bottom of the PDF there should be a table with all of the wiring but here is the short of it:

Green/Pink is what I used as running lights because it is what powered the trunk lights originally

White/Red is the brake wire *

Blue goes to the left turn signal *

Blue/Pink Goes to the right turn signal. *

 * These were where I used a Tap Splice because I did not want to affect the original lights at the back of the bike I only wanted to change the trunk lights this is also why in that table I did not use the Red output from the 4710 to the main brake light.

I hope this helps some, If not please let me know and I'll try to help more.

spursmvp - 2008-12-16 7:51 PM Well I just spent the afternoon installing this. Not easy....but not overwhelming. I like how the trunk lights flash when the brake is applied and I do believe that this will increase the visibility of the bike when turning or stopping. Thanks again for a great write up and photos!

Sweet!! Since you have been my official 1st tester of the documentation what changes need to be made to make it easier to follow? Let me know and I can make any changes and re-upload the document for others to follow. I would like to see lots of visions running down the road a little safer..

Hey Firehawk....the only part where I got confused was trying to figure out what wiring bundle to unwrap underneath the seat. I finally figured out which group of wires to focus on by unplugging one and then checking which lights went out on the back of the bike. It also took me a while to figure out the wiring configuration based upon the chart so you might expand that VERY important part by saying 'cut the green/pink wire and use a butt connector to attach 8-10 inches of wire.'

Everything else about your install instructions was awesome and I will be the first to say you did a great job. I would not have known where to start without your directions.

Thanks again Firehawk

spursmvp : I will try to get a clearer description on the wiring harness and add that into the documentation.

Sonicbluerider: I do not see any reason this mod will effect the trailer wiring because we are not modifying the original tail lights only the trunk lights so it should not be a factor.

this is what they said to me---- Sorry at this time we do not have any info on the model bike yet so I cannot say what will and will not work. We do not even call the #4710 to fit either!. Sorry again! Have a great holiday season!

You have videos, and we have all seen them. Fantastic.

Thanks for the additional info. If I had carefully reread your .pdf file, I would have seen the list of wires on page 11. Sorry 'bout that. Anyway, UPS says this will be on my doorstep Monday. Tuesday, I'll know if I'm up to the task. If you see a Steel Grey Tour riding around without lights, that'll be me.

Hey Firehawk you did a great job in your write up. I think it's funny that Kury doesn't think it will work because I have a Vision in my garage that lights up like a Christmas tree.

Thanks again for all of your hard work!

Before I start cutting, what was the "new wire" for? I got the bike apart and the controller is here, just have to splice it in.

Forget the abovequestion, I "got it" after looking at it for a little bit. The same signal was running to both lights so you had to add another wire for the output of the controller. Is this right?

You have to have that wire to run the left light independent of the right light.

Fire,

The link isn't working any longer. Is that because you took it down? If so, would you mind posting it again OR sending it to me via private message to my gmail account?

Thanks and Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays!

Well, after some investigation, the site is blocked on my end.

Would anyone mind emailing it to me or posting it to another site?

Thanks for the input.

I'm wondering if it is possible to remove the trunk easily with the additional wiring?

Thanks!

Mid installation right now. The left light works great with brake and signal light. The right remains a steady, plain light with no change. Does anyone know if you have to cut the Green/Pink wire and connect it to the Kuryakin? I just did a tap splice to it. I'm thinking I may have to cut the Green/Pink wire, then attach the distal end (going to the trunk) to the Kuryakin.

Any ideas?
