We tried to make it like oem but the problems we encountered in the prototype is your boot heel will scratch the chrome on the side cover. you think it is far away untill you get home and see it

Will let you know about that. So far minimum test, have not hit the side cover with my heel.

Good to hear seeing as I just had it installed. Had someone else P/U from the dealer so I have not had a chance to ride it yet.

Just installed mine last night (15 min job). Will test it out today, suppose to be low 50's .

Had an BMW LT 1200...loaded...gonna ride it everywhere. Found out my knee could last an hour because of the Horse s**t foot position...test rode a Vision for 10 minutes...bought a Premium the next day.

So...since my feet can darn near do a jig on the floor boards...why would you want a Heel/Toe shifter taking up that dancing room?

Did the first ride with the new heel toe. I did not hit the side cover with my boot heel. I really like it and because of the design you do not loose any of the floorboard space. One thing I did notice was the toe shifter is much higher now than the stock one was. Dollarbill, can you tell me if the installation instructions say anything about position? I had the dealer install while it was there for the recall so I don't have them. Thanks In Advance.

Dang threw them out. But you can lower the toe but you will raise the heel if you do.

No problem. Yeah I knew the heel would raise but as it is now the toe shifter is way high. Thanks

If it is only a minor adjustment, just loosen the jam nuts on the shift linkage.  One is left handed and the other is right handed.  twist the rod till it is where you want it.  If it is a major adjustment, slip the splined connection off of the engine shift rod and move clockswise or counter clockwise as needed, then do the final adjustement with the shift linkage as described in the first part of this paragraph.

I just installed mine tonight. I am hoping no scuffing to the covers also. I may remove the rear chrome peg and reuse the rubber post type from the take off shifter. Not sure yet. The rubber post may limit the left foot too much. It is a nice design for the Vision though. It conforms to the floorboard well maximizing the foot space.

I thought I bought a heel-toe shifter when I got my bike (1300 miles ago), but seems they are backordered - along with the drink holder on backorder. I ordered XM and the chrome piece that goes on the front of the fairing, just below the windshield today and hope they goya (get off their acorn) to get the parts in. Not really impressed with the home office, but the local dealer sure tries hard. Also, how is your radio reception? I was encouraged to get an amplifier for the antenna from Radio Shack, something the dealer is considering to install on all their Visions.

Ride safe and Happy Hauntings!

See the Technical section of the forum regarding radio reception. I ordered my antenna from Crutchfield (less than $30 including shipping) and installed it in my trunk. A remarkable improvement over the stock antenna. It's really a shame that after buying a $23K motorcycle you have to replace the antenna to be able to listen to the radio!

Installed my vision heel toe shifter on Thursday and David's post on the final adjustment made it much easier. I really like having the heel shifter, it works great. It seems like the trans shifts easier but thats probably all in my head. Anyway Thanks David!

Just had mine installed today and WOW its awesome. I had a previous bike that had the heel-toe and have never liked 'pulling' through the gears with the tip of my shoe.

This works like a charm! Not bad for $169 and I paid the dealer to put the new one on and readjust the linkage. Not bad for $30!

Hey Savage, What was the name / part # of the antenna you ordered from crutchfield?
How about the ease of installation.
Thanks!

I just read this post for the first time and I have to say that I would be very interested to know if these "New Way Shifters" can in fact be adapted and installed on the Vision. Anyone have a definitive answer yet?? Thanks!

Well, mine arrived and I installed them the same day as I got my bike back. I have to say...it looks AWESOME but effectively is USELESS to me! In order to position it properly (the way I think it should be) I have to put the front toe shifter about 9 ft above my head. This kind of bummed me out.

So, I read one of the posts here (not sure who) that suggested removing the chrome rear piece and replace with the toe shifter from the original. I am going to give this a try to see if the set will settle in where I feel it is more comfy on the toe AND the heel. I'll let you know. Don't ask too soon. I won't have time to get to this until next week at the earliest.

My thoughts for those that care...
1. remove the heel shift chrome piece.
2. use my trusty belt sander and sand down the top and bottom of the rubber to make it thinner
3. replace the rubber toe onto the rear making it a heel shifter
4. adjust shifter to bring the front back down
5. ride and report to you my findings

I did that with mine when I got it and when adjusted to my liking the heel when I shift almost touches the floorboard.

that is about what I figured it would do. but I don't mind that. Actually, I would prefer it. Can't wait to dig in and make it better.
thanks for the reply. I think I will be on your page soon.

I guess im not one of those guys who has to keep simplifying stuff. Dude, is the 1 second change in toe position R E A L L Y
so stressing that you gotta buy a 350.00 replacement? My Kingpin has a heal/toe shifter and I rarely use it. The minimal foot movement is just not that much that im so lazy i need it. (Not referring to any of you as lazy, its just a figure of speech) There are a lot of other things for 350.00 i would get more use from. my opinion only.
