pollolittle - 2008-10-27 9:20 AM If you will notice this ended back in Oct 2007. A full year has gone by and quite a few more folks have showed up. If you haven't responded to this one, feel free to add age and your FIRST impression.

Nearly a half a century! Whooohooo! My first impression? Well give me another year or too and I'll tell you. Each ride feels like the first time, the very first time. From the first article I read I had to at least sit on this bike to see what it would feel like to finally be comfortable sitting at a light or riding down the highway. Incredible is all I can say, rock steady, 80mph feels like 55mph, don't ask me how I know. The Vision has made motorcycling what it ought to be!

I received one of the first dozen in AZ back in Sept of 07. The first ride off the dealers lot is one still fresh in my mind. It was the sweetest two wheeler I had ever experienced and is even better a year plus later. I'm just about done with the mods, super shiny custom wheels on order, a few other extras and thats enough.

The only other thing that amazes me (less than the Vision) is that between Vary and Pootthescoot they have just short of 2,000 posts on this board and I have been here for everyone of them. Man can those guys type!!!!! I think they should get an award, I don't know what, something small and worthless, but something.

I hope nobody from Victory reads this and sees an owner call it a Victory Goldwing. This is a Travshamockery (thanks BuckN8kd)!

He could have called it a Luxoliner, Land Yacht, Two wheeled beast of passion, anything but a ....................!!!!!

HehHeh. Meant to be a compliment, sir, and if Victory does read these threads, they will understand what I meant. The Goldwing has been a class leader for many years. NOW, they have some real competiton.

I think I'll start from the bottom:
rdbudd, mean it how you like it, I for one have never, ever, in my short lifetime ever thought it was a Goldwing. Probably a class leader, but I own a GMC Dually and would likely call it a Mercedes as a compliment but it doesn't make much sense to most. However, I would rather drive that Dually than a Mercedes any day, I just love trucks. FYI, if they are reading this post, then whoever it is needs to get back to work. Hopefully, The other class members will see this and formulate something extraordinary to keep up.

SandintheshortsJim - nobody else listens to me so I type, luckily I have a captive audience. I have captivated you for a year, except you have kindly bowed out for a while from the hearty banter, which I of course miss. Does seem like a lot of worthless dribble, but I like to talk. I'm in agreement about the award, I should get something useless and meaningless, when we meet someday, I'm sure you will hand over the appropriate award. I just wish I had the all knowing wisdom as you to be able to get the shiny addons.

I too haven't forgotten the day I rode off with a grin on my face and blood running through my veins with a big ol' boost of adrenaline. Surprised I didn't wreck it the same day.

31...guess I beat a few for the youngest title. Had a Kawasaki Mean Streak before this, and it was a fun bike, but I bought it when I was single, and it just wasn't comfortable for my then girlfriend, now wife. That and I didn't have bags or a windshield. Rode it to Myrtle twice, and decided the next bike I would get would be a "geezer glider." Looked at several bikes, rode my buddy's BMW, and my other buddy's Ultra Classic. Saw that Victory was coming out with a tour, so I waited and glad I did. First impression was that it was new and retro at the same time. I liked the fact that it was still a V-Twin and showcased the motor. I also really liked the fact that it didn't look like anything else out there. Even the metric cruisers are basically just Harley looking bikes, so this gave me something different. When I rode it, I instantly loved it. Took the wife for a ride, and she gave it her approval and then I just had to sad dog eye look at her for a few days and she gave in and agreed that "we" needed it. I love her a little more each day! My wife too!

44 years roaming this earth. Just became a grandfather for the first time last night. As soon as Isabella is old enough, she will be tugging on my sleeve asking me when the next ride on the Vision will be.

I was about to put money down on either a Road Glide or a BMW K1200 LT. Then I saw an article that Victory was going to make a full out touring bike. I waited and then fell in love with the look of the bike. Like I tell others, the first bike I actually got excited about in the last 10 years. The demo truck stopped in Gaithersburg MD in Sept of 07. Me and the wife left Virginia Beach Early Sat morning on my 98 750 Honda Shadow and rode up. Rode the bike for 45 minutes and was sold. Never looked back and I knew I was buying one as soon as I could. I even left a life long career and went back to doing my hobby full time and went to work for Polaris as a Tech all because of the Vision. almost 12 months later, I pretty much had saved and scrimped everything I could and dug into my life’s savings and pretty much paid cash for the bike. Might be a bit on the broke side of things, but me and my better half have not regretted it.

Just hit the half century this year...couldn't take my eye off the bike as I rode by a dealer that had Tour out front...I'm sure I said something like "WTF". Still can't take my eyes off it when I walk through the garage....my butt and knees are the ones that really like it.

I'm taking Thursday off because it's suppose to be in the 60's up here in igloo country so I can just RIDE!

Poootie - I have the perfect award that awaits your presence- Keep up the good posting - My favorites are the wife story and the sheet rock story- I am sure we will have a calamity soon enough from you - enough gas mileage and oil reports, those are old. The riding is getting perfecto here in AZ hanging about 90 each day.

I'll post some pics of my new wheels when they arrive -

49 going on 50 in December.
Was going through a midlife crises and bought bike since it looked cooler then gold chains around my neck, low button down shirt, and cheaper then a convertible sports car.

Work to much and play to little.
Bike just reached out and touched me. Don't know why! It seems to have it all. Tour styling so the wife and I can take trips alone without kids … to far way places where we can make love until the sun comes up.
Street cruiser styling so it fits in with the cruisers.
Has the latest in technology, yet is also old school.
Is easy to clean compared to Harley's and the like.
In spite of simple design it still looks great chromed up.

Anther thing.
You can park it in front of a biker bar and not look lost like Gold Wings do.
Also, can park it at a Cracker Barrel and not look like a misplaced Harley rider.

BTW my wife looks really hot on the bike, and in her riding duds.

The Victory Vision was designed and built with guys like me in mind! In spite of a few bugs I could just kiss the Victory folks for building her for me!!

42 Here...
I went in to the dealer to buy a Kingpin Tour but left with a Vision Street. At first I did'nt know abou the look of the Vision but after the first ride I was HOOKED!!! The dealer got a little worried when I was gone for a 1 1/2 Hr test ride. Now I love the look, every where I go people are stopping and aasking about it. Then when I show off the IPOD controller and adjustable windshield they are blown away!! My HD buds gave me some grief until our first couple of rides when I was comfortable jamming to tunes on the IPOD and I did'nt need to stop to rest my butt or get gas every 30 minutes!!!

55 and will be 56 in March. Looking to come back to Victory with particular interest in the Vision. Right now the local Vic dealer has an 08 Tour Premium in Black for $18599. I have looked at the 2009s and really like the new blue color even better. My truck will be paid off in April so I might consider something after that happens.

Im 48 but my Internet age is 22. I had what I used to think was a comfortable touring bike Honda ST1300 mostly because it was comfortable but I didnt want the 2 wheel lazyboy wing. It always reminded me of mid life crisis vehicle,,, and we all know what kinda guys buy them. My old neighbor has the yield sign yellow Wing.. Honda makes a good vehicle, but they dont make a visually stimulating
vehicle. I traded my ST1300 because it was so freakin HOT to ride on, and purchased my Vic Kingpin tour earlier this past year.
My other half wouldnt even look at the Vision at that time. Love my KP but consider that my "summer" short ride bike. I went back and
purchased my Black Vision Street Premium 1.5 months ago. Now im considering selling my ness Kingpin she is beautiful with limited production skins chromed out the wazooooo (what is a wazooo by the way) and she only has 750 miles on her !!!!!!! If you know anyone who wants a premium bike still in showroom new mode, let me know. Otherwise prepare to be blinded by chrome and beautification as I Vision past you......

50 years young!! Been riding for 37 years and the Vision is the most superior bike I have ever ridden!! My riding buddy bought a 2008 Ultra Glide and although it cost him over 5 grand more than I paid for Vicki, it isn't half the bike that the Vision is!! Ride on!!!!

Damm straight to that last thread! The Vision is the coolest and most comfortable looking production bike out there.
I love how the Harley, Gold Wing and BMW people look at the Vision and just think of something
to say that tries to knock it down. I see fear of the opposition.
